Virtual Ham meals Up hope you get the heat fixed & all you need before the storm rolls in!! Saw your post on the "Normal drinkers don't....." Thread last night. I was so grateful to be sober after reading through that but also had a couple good laughs. I especially liked the one RE: (Melinda I think) was drunk & couldn't find her contact lense case so used 2 Dixie cups, woke the next morning to see the cups by her bed & thought, great a couple of shots & downed $150. Of contact lenses....LOL. I can only laugh because I lost more contact lenses than I did debit cards. You know, I have not lost a debit card in a long time!! Good night my friend!

Yea, that is a good thread. My main problem is drugs but SO much of it crosses over.

I think the AV is trying to get a foothold, I was sad this evening and it's trying to convince me that since I don't really have a problem with alcohol that I should go get a bottle of tequila. I refuse to listen to it because it may lead back to drugs or may become my new addiction.

Goodnight everyone.

Mariah, the memory care facility sounds good. To be able to work part time there whilst growing your business could work really well. I hope things settle down for you soon.

UP, I totally sympathise with your heating issue, our boiler has a habit of breaking down just when we need it the most - it's almost like it knows, verging on spookiness
Hope you're warm now.

I have a dentist appointment today, it's just a check up, but there's always a chance that pain will be involved. Not my favourite way to spend £35 (much rather order a couple of books from Amazon).

Have a good day all

Yeah don;t even look down that road UP.

I think I've shared this before but I'll share it again - I spent a lot of years trying to fill a void in me.

Nothing worked cos that sucker was bottomless.

I've had a lot better results since I decided to try and heal it instead

It's not fast work...But I worked steadily...had some counseling help...did some service work for other people that made me feel good about myself too - worked on all the stuff I didn't like about myself, and worked through the regrets I had...

but all that really got me to where I am today - a million miles away from where I used to be

D

Yeah, tell that AV to ****off Up. definately not going to help a thing. Do you have what you need to fix the thermostat tomorrow? Sounds like a good project before the storm comes.

Thanks Mariah, I survived the dentist today, but he's booked me to see the hygienist in April, and I know he's absolutely brutal! Not sure if I'll come out of that alive.

So ... woke up this morning and my back was killing me. You know it's bad when you are eating hot oatmeal and consider smearing it on your back. Fortunately it is easing up now.
I guess it's time to check the heater out. The good thing is that it's not completely broke and it's electric baseboard heat so it doesn't have that much to go wrong.

Thanks for sharing Dee. I still have that addict attitude of wanting instant gratification.

Glad the dentist visit wasn't bad free.

If the thermostat is bad Mariah I have a spare around here somewhere. Worse case, I can take one from a room that I'm not using.
I like electric heat because I don't have to heat the whole house and if I want one room hotter, say the bathroom, it's not a problem. On the downside it's expensive, it would be nice to have a roof full of solar panels.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Sorry your back is hurting Up....when is your appointment with specialist? Hope the heat is an easy fix today.

Did some job search this am. Downloaded mindfulness ap to my phone last night, turned some new patient paperwork into a facilities I am hoping to get into for some councillors. Taking some action

Thanks Mariah, the specialist is on hold for now. More stuff I have to do with the family doctor plus the specialist she was going to send me to doesn't take my insurance.

Had to hold off on working on the heat. I have to borrow a voltage tester from a friend because I can't find mine. I'm wondering if it got left at the ex's house, if it did I'll never see it again.

I hope things work out with the counselor Mariah.

Wonderful post yesterday Mariah,....inspiring

Did the same thing,......working FT at the golf course for over a year saving up money to get a solid start ,...once I'd learned that was the journey. Was lucky to have 2 additional pt jobs at the time, so I could live off that money and save the money from the golf course. Eatin' lots a taters in them days !
And any unlucky fish I could catch.
Almost 60 and still can't feed myself ( yet) out of the river ,,.... disgraceful !?!

What a day !! Started raking and burning before the sun came up ,,,and finished after it went down. Lots of breaks.

Up , my central heat is a heat pump, but it pretty well sucks,...imho. Need to get a HVAC guy from work to see if there's something to be done. Removed a panel yesterday and dug out a bunch of leaves,....it looks better anyway. That's pretty cool you can work on your thermostat,.....

It warmed up from 28 F ,....looks like we've got another break coming ,...thank goodness. Usually keep this place warmed to 50 f in the winter, ..and cooled to 80 f in the summer. High energy bills and I never got along well.

Freein,....you're hurtin' my feelin's . 35 pounds !?! We can't see a nurse that cheap. I often wonder what the rest of the industrialized world said to their politicians to get healthcare ?

Was it an offer they couldn't refuse ?

Morning all,
9.15.
at the desk.....

Up: A bottle of Tequila and Obo is going to be in some serious trouble. I don't think there would be any escaping the fall out from that stuff. I too still suffer from the AV jumping around every now and then, but we both know deep down walking the line is the only way forward....

Tops: Aussie open has started!

Mariah: When I get home, we are going to need money but I dont want to settle for a job I dont like again........ it ruins everything if you dont like your job! Good luck!

Freein: Good luck at the dentist...! I've never one that I've liked...!

Dee: Pretty hot over there, fire an issue where you live.....?

HI Adna, Rocks, Izzy, and all the other fools out there in cyber land. I hope you're all well and kicking goals!

All good this end!

stay tuned..........................

Your such a go getter TS that is a long day, I bet you are dead tired!! I don't care for high electric bills either but I hate being cold even more. Right with the health care TS....a. Crying shame for a lot of people. we are losing physicians in this area now because of the whole Obama Care act....we can't afford them & they can't afford to practice here.

I really hope you pursue seeing another Doc Up.....I would be persistent with that, living with pain like that is not OK.

So glad to see you post Obo, have been wondering how your doing. I think the same thing with work....no fun going somewhere you hate going 40 hrs a week.

I made it back to the gym tonight!!!! 25 minutes in weight room (went easy with the weights so I don't wake up unable to do it again tomorrow) & 30 on elliptical. And sat in jacuzzi for about 20 minutes.

Thanks everyone

It's very hot here Obo but no fire danger yet - all it takes is one ***** though.

I doubt it will be an firsthand issue for me anymore tho as I'm right in suburbia now.

Hopefully you don't have any *****s down there Dee, sounds like Google will be safer.

Sorry, I know it's cheesy but hey ... that's me.

I do plan on following through with the doctor Mariah. Probably a good idea not to over do it at the gym.

Good to see you post obo. My fallout wouldn't be that bad, at least at first, but I don't want to even look down that road.

Enjoy the AO guys.

I figured I would be dealing with the AV today but it must have listened to the "**** off".

Hope your back is better today UP. Have you got a hot water bottle you could use (rather than oatmeal, it's a little less messy )

Mariah, that sounds a good plan, I love that your always so proactive.

I'm up a bit late this morning, so this is a bit of a " post n dash"!

See you later.

I hope so too free. I don't have a hot water bottle but do have an electric heating pad.

Have a great day.
