Well, I can not condone or encourage your experiment, but what I will say is that by Sunday evening we should have the answer. If you are in bad shape an call in to work on Monday, I would say your experiment failed. I certainly hope that does not happen.
You're totally confusing abstinence with control.
If you're an alcoholic like me, no amount of time will reset you, or give you that control others have and apparently you desperately want..
Sooner or later you're going to lose control again.

Man I was so drunk this morning, and was even a bit buzzed during my morning commute. But it was fine. The day went by smoothly and I got my work done as well.
This is good news! Tomorrow is Friday, so it'll probably be a bit slower at work. Practice makes perfect.

Geez you guys are so gullible. I didn't relapse, but I did have a hell of a laugh. You guys crack me up. But I do definitely appreciate your guys' concern. I can imagine how frustrating it would be if the roles were reversed. (I in fact have been in that position, i.e., watching someone else relapse, and it isn't fun. So perhaps it wasn't that funny to you guys.)
I'm currently at Day 101. Cheers.

I've seen mates die from relapses, so no, I don't find anything funny in your last couple of posts, TG.
Lot more I want to say but it wouldn't do either of us any good.
Hope you decide to stay sober.

Maybe would've been a good idea to say at the end of your post that you were just joking. The people here want to help you as a newcomer in recovery, not watch you experiment with relapse.
Glad you stayed sober man..Be well.

OK It's clear that that may have rubbed you the wrong way, probably because you've lost friends to relapse. So it may have been a bit more personal for you, and not a joke as I had intended. My bad for that.

Based on everyone's reactions and comments, the "joke" was an epic fail. Good to know.

TG, I took a lighthearted attitude towards drinking, problem drinker, drunkard, and/or alcoholic when I joined the forum. Hey, its all in good fun right? Wrong. I spent hours and hours on this forum and realized that when it comes to alcohol, for some good folks that found this website, it really was life and death. Like drinking mouthwash, vanilla extract, seizures, trips to the ER etc....and these are folks with marriages, careers and kids. Therefore to make light of it will bring you some negative attention. Hope that helps a little in terms of perspective.
