Hi everyone! I should have checked in in March ... I had a belly button birthday that kinda distracted me, and didn't think of it. But all is well! And I'm 50 now. Wouldn't it sound much better if, instead of saying I'm "50 years old", I said "I made Level 50"? I think so.

How is your recovery going, Mirage? I saw something on fb and didn't know what it was about. Is your knee still doing well, too?
And how is your back, Dee? Was it a fall?
Aussie!!! CONGRATS on 10 months!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!
Hi Venus!

Let's see ... some big things ...
* we did some remodeling in the house, and redid the deck.
* The 2 youngest grands are now 1, the middle is 2, and the oldest is 8. We watch them often! We'll have a 1 year old and the 2 year old this weekend from Friday - Sunday. That's something I couldn't have done if I were drinking!
* My oldest daughter is getting married (2nd marriage) in August, and my youngest is getting married in June of 2022.
* I'm the queen of Zoom both in my job and in AA ... if any of you ever want to come to one of my meetings, let me know! I can send links. Since we can build relationships so well long-distance now, I sponsor some ladies from out of state. One from Iowa is coming to visit next month for a few days, and I can't wait!
* The Recovery Service that I've done music for for many years (maybe 6 or so?) had its last service a couple days ago ... we didn't survive COVID, which was sad. But, I trust that there is something else out there for me and all of us. The hardest part, by far, was watching my music team walk out the door for the last time knowing that this experience was over.
* My hubby and I are both vaccinated and healthy.

Hugs to all of you!

Hey PBC, my recovery from surgery is going well! (Had 8" of my colon removed due to diverticulitis.) I went for a walk, just a mile, a few days ago. I don't have a lot of stamina, I need to start trying to improve that now. (My insides are learning what to do without that piece of colon, but I've been happy with the progress.) PS. if you saw that fb post about my vacation, that drink was a virgin colada! lol I thought of you when I posted it, didn't want you to think I was boozin' it up.) Congrats on the weddings!

I had a birthday, too! Yesterday. It was nice! Celebrating with the in-laws today, going to a bbq. We've all been vaxxed, too, and it's so nice to be able to visit without as much worry. I feel like we're finally turning a corner. Our state isn't good, but numbers are coming down. My 53 yr old, in good shape, cousin got very sick with it and was in the hospital for awhile, but he's home now. Other than that, Spring has sprung, leaves and flowers have bloomed and temps are warming. You have my permission to plant now, Suze. lol

Stay well, friends!

Checking in
drinking again , I have come to the realisation I am a dry drunk. I have enjoyed every minute of drinking again . Not what you want to hear . Sorry. I won't be keeping it up though , my body wont take it. I am close to committing again. I just needed a break from everything.

Drinking alcoholically is not anyones natural state.

Enjoying drinking again doesn't make you a dry drunk when you're not drinking IMO Aussie - although it might mean you're drinking to try and deal with things in your life you don't know how else to fix?

I don't won't to see you sick,or worse, dead - I've known too many SR folks not here any more
I really hope you stop and this time for good.

D

Think about what a sober life you love would look like- that's the first step to building it and making it happen

Thanks Dee
your right about things in my life I don't know how to fix , that's what I meant by needing a break and yes they were still there the next morning . Just looking for some relief. I know I can't keep drinking my health is what brought me here in the first place. I am trying to get my head together.

Thanks for caring.

Thankyou all for the love.
Suze , Dee always knows what to say it's hard to think he came here in so much trouble all those years ago and look where he is now. So proud of you Dee my friend. . you too Suze you do an amazing job here always ready to listen and help .
Mirage I will get back on the bus , I still am struggling but getting closer to making a commitment.
Sorry I missed your birthday , belated best wished. Glad to hear your all vaxxed , tossing up about getting my jab , the jab I am being offered is causing blood clots in a small number of people so I am nervous about getting it but it's all that's available for my age group. I hope your doing well after your operation.
