Huge congrats Mirage 11 years
Mum is doing ok but she has a lot of trouble putting sentences together , the other big problem is falls , she has a lot of them .

Well I made it , one year on the 13th , the longest I have ever gone without a drink.

Lovely cold winters day here going to reach a top of 19 degrees c.
have a great weekend everyone.

Thank you!

Aussie, that's amazing, I'm SO happy for you!! You made it through a season of storms, I knew you could do it. A year is a big deal.

Checking in to let you know I am ok , between looking after Mum and Dad and work I don't have much me time these days.
Still of the drink, testing times coming with the storm season upon us , Winter just goes far too fast.
I hope you are all keeping well.
I will be sure to check in more regularly if the drink comes after me, mind you I have been tested but so far so good.

Love Aussie

Take care Dee.

Glad to hear you're doing well at staying sober, aussie. Hope your parents are faring well. xo
I lost my dad this week. It's been a rough, rough time. He just went in for a knee replacement and ended up going through a lot for 2 weeks before he died. It's been heartbreaking, but I'm doing ok. I'll miss him so!!

Hope y'all's summer isn't too stormy!

Hello Marchers! I saw Mirage's latest needlepoint creation on fb (she's wickedly talented!), and it prompted me to check in here.

How are you all doing? How has your season gone, Aussie? How is your health, Dee?

I'm doing well. I started up a recovery ministry at my church last summer. We have AA, Al-Anon, GA, and a recovery Bible study that I lead so far. The meetings aren't huge, but they're solid and seem to grow slowly. We have a number of folks who have gotten sober since then and are plugging in regularly, which is encouraging. I did a speaker meeting recently, too, am in the midst of planning a women's retreat for later this month at my house, and am cheering and working with on a number of sponsees who are progressing beautifully.

And it's March. Can you believe we started this thing 12 years ago now? Wow. I am so grateful to all of you! I didn't stay sober in 2011, but I made progress toward the day that I did stay sober. It took what it took for me to be ready for that, and you all were an inspiration through it all. Thank you!

Hey all! Hey PBC, glad things are going well, I enjoy keeping up with your life on fb!
Just wanted to check in with the Marchers in March! Hard to believe it's been 12 years. I miss hearing from the March crew.
Looks like the "thanks" button is gone. Is that a new development or just a glitch on my end?
Hope you all are doing well. I imagine the aussies are thankful that winter is coming. We still have a good amount of snow on the ground, so I'm looking forward to Spring! I'd kill to see a flower come up from out of the dirt. lol
Love you, crazy kids!

Hello friends! Celebrating 12 years today! It wasn't the easiest year to remind myself that drinking won't make anything easier or more fun. I just got home from a trip to Dublin, London, Paris and Amsterdam and holy cow was I surrounded by drinking for 2 weeks. lol Part of me really wanted a pint of cider in a London pub as I did a lot of that back when I lived there for 4 months, back in my 20s. My husband has a new found love for bourbon for some reason and so much seemed to revolve around getting drinks and toasting, etc. There were 5 of us on the trip and it was great fun. I'm just not around drinking that much anymore and it was a lot! We did lots of fun things and saw some great places. Came home with Covid, but I'm feeling better now.
Hope you all are well and the aussies are enjoying their winter! It is unseasonably warm there like it is here?
Love to you guys! xo

CONGRATS on 12 years, Mirage!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! I'm so happy for you!

I made 10 in September. Woo-hooo! It still astounds me.

It's been quite a few months. My hubby was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive Stage 3 prostate cancer back in June. He had it removed in September, and is working on recovering, which is quite a long process. As of now, though, they think he is cancer free. There will be more tests later to confirm, and for years to come to watch for a recurrence (which is likely because of how aggressive it was). Through it all, I am so grateful that I was completely sober and present 100% for him. When I was a mess, he was there for me more than he ever should have had to be. It's an honor to get to be there for him now.

I hope you all are safe and sober and blessed.
