Evening overs

Hi LSC

Sassy, that name really suits you, lol. You are a one, as my mum would say. Haha.

Hiya toots.

Wolfie, wouldn't deep heat and your bath been the other way around! Bath then deep heat? But then your foot may have had too much discomfort for walking, the answer is there is no answer!

It's getting dark early now.

I put the deep heat on my foot before the exercise so i didn't feel the pain as much when I got back I had a bath as I was drenched in sweat I done a lot of mileage today 5+ some jog but I got to be careful as I have bone fragments & arthritis in my right ankle from a nasty fall where I broke both ankles but its my right that took the brunt & yes it was in my drinking days climbing a massive park gate it caught my combat shorts and I went arse over head

Mrs sw treated me to a lovely leg massage with muscle pain gel

Plus when your walking your thoughts are free & you take so much more in its great for mindfulness also

I might ask the Dr to have surgery on the right ankle as sometimes the bone fragments can cause a painful locking that is sore to get out of I've heard they do this on nhs

Going to do more reading spk soon guys

People in my condo building that I manage/live in had been worried about a neighbor. She was weak and tired and seldom left her apt. I would call and check on her. Last night she tried to walk across the hall to my apt and fainted. We called for an ambulance and they took her to the ER.

Her blood glucose was 600 mg/dl 100 is normal. 600 means her blood was syrup. Her blood pressure was off the charts. She was minutes from a coma.

She had not been eating... but there were 24 empty bottles of champagne in her apartment, 1 partly drank in her fridge, 2 others cold and an 1/2 full glass on her desk. That is all she had for probably the last 3-5 days. She did not do all 24 of the bottles in that time, but that shows how many she has drank in a month or two at least.

She is in Intensive Care... getting better and madder than all get out at me for telling the medical personnel about her drinking.

Good grief... what a mess. Just hold her in your thoughts. thanks.

Rusty - Hahaha! I love that! Very clever!

LSC - It's so cool to hear how you are making healthy choices in recovery. I used to avoid seeing the doctor when things hurt too. The symptoms I was minimizing turned out to be autoimmune based arthritis.

Drake - I think it is a cool coincidence that a recovering alcoholic was able to discover her alcohol abuse and share it with the medics. Addicts minimize the danger of drugs and alcohol, and you didn't do that. You made her mad, but you did the right thing, and showed just how strong you stand in recovery.

Mags, Toots, Sask -- Hi! It's great to be in this together.

Healing thoughts to your neighbour Drake, and what ever she says, you did the right thing, they needed to know what they were treating and I think deep down she wanted help. Maybe you could share a little with her without pressure, just to let her know she isn't alone. ( though maybe loneliness was at the root of her problem drinking? ) you are a good person, friend and neighbour Drake X

Yup, Tootsville (pop1) has an asylum, a lady mayor, a book club ( reviewing only the books written by the lady mayor) a casino ( where solitaires the only game in town) and a vaudeville show twice daily. Visitors welcome.

Wolfie, my foot has done the same thing! I'm resting it for a day or two and keeping it strapped.

Hiya Mags, how's your chest? (Asthma itchy, you old goat!)

Good to see you LSC.

Hugs all xx

I like what I've heard from her - she was behind that empathy vs sympathy video I posted a little while back.

Drake, sorry to hear about your neighbor. Good thing she's got someone like you next door. You did the right thing.

Well, I'm just about ready to head out for the weekend, so I won't be checking in for awhile. Radio show tonight and then my Mom's 60th high school class reunion tomorrow night and then back to Milwaukee on Sunday. I figure I'll be putting at least 1,000 miles on my car. I'm sure the experiences will be worth it

Have a great weekend, gang!
