Hello, an early start to day 2 here for me. A terrible night's sleep, probably caused by the week's excesses - a real reminder of why I need to make this work again. So awful to feel this way after six weeks of salvation. Hey ho, onwards and upwards. I'll be checking here the second ANY cravings rear their ugly heads.

DEE - just a quick note, the link on the last thread to the new thread is the same as the one above, IE, it doesn't forward to here but back to the previous thread. Easy enough to get here, but the less computer savvy might struggle to find us :-)

Best of luck to you all for the day. I'll be counting on you to make it through the day, and I'll be offering the same support should anyone else need it.

Morning all

Today is day 60 and two whole months sober. The longest ive gone by far.

I feel really proud of myself today I must use this as a reminder to not get complacent though. I can recognise my AV now much more easily. It's my own fault now if I let it get the better of me!

I like the routine of the da at the moment. I wake up early, feeling what can be described as normal, no frustration at the night before, panic, regret or withdrawal.

Instead I get up, get ready and get on with my day. I keep myself busy when I would in the past have been drinking. I cycle, read, play video games, attend meetings, listen to podcasts, sit with my family... ANYTHING but drink.

2 months down and more to come. There is no other choice.

I'll say. Hats off, BBB! Why would you ever look back? You did it, you're doing it, and you will continue to do it!

Being back in work definitely helps keep the urges off.

This past week I'd be getting to 12 and making my way to the off license (dragging my excuses along with me!), but being here now, I've got no desire to drink at all. Need to keep that mentality all the time.

Sorry that you have been having some troubles, cbf! I am glad that you are sticking with us, instead of staying in hiding with your drinking. We are here for you.

You all are the best! Thanks for the kind words and positive vibes over the last month. I have been diffusing essential oils the last few days, after a few people have talked about their benefits. I bought a diffuser on amazon and a starter kit last week for about $35. I leave it on at night with different oils and I can honestly say it has helped break up my cold, ease tension, anxiety and relax me. I just thought I would throw this idea out there for ya'll because I know we are all battling some kind of stress. So far, I am very impressed. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Today makes 72 days. This is the day that I relapsed the last time. Here's to making it through the day and hitting a personal sobriety milestone of 73 days!

Catching up with yall! I post in a few forums so to some it's kind of the same. Different groups give different perspectives which ALL help me.
I went to a party with my husband and some of his (our) family last night. I didn't drink, didn't have the urge either. I did notice people were drinking. I noticed none of them were drunk or drank excessively. I would've been the one to be that person. I am so happy I had a good time. We laughed, we talked, there were pickers and singers there. Of course they asked me to sing several times but I declined. Just can't until I know the association of me n singing and why it scares me to death to perform again. The best thing: I REMEMBER THE WHOLE NIGHT!! I was talking with my husband this morning about all this with tears in my eyes. I felt joy, relief, and so much gratitude.
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. ((Hug)) to everyone! If you're struggling I hope it passes quick and don't give up on yourself!

Should add that I'm not drinking, though. Same day as you Ang, 72. I guess I have something to be happy about.

Congrats BBB and Angd!

Cbf glad you're back and hope you stick around no matter what

Hi Toki and Tooshabby

Makes me happy to see everyone checking in, I'm starting to feel like part of a little community of us Julyers.

This morning I woke up early and went to the laundromat while much of the town was snoozing. Just cleaned my apartment top to bottom. I'm in ecstasy over the amazing Autumn weather, all the windows that will open are open!
Bought a swim suit on close out last night. My ambition is to try to take up swimming at the YMCA. I hate practicing at things I'm not good at and learning to swim well is really hard! I just really need it in my life as I work standing on concrete all day bent over repairing bicycles. I need an activity to reverse all that strain and pressure, which causes me almost constant pain in various areas of my body.

Wish me luck, I'm trying hard not to think about how embarrassed I'm going to feel as I thrash around like a dying porpoise!
