Canada - here's hoping your gorgeous new PM lives up to the claims! Seriously, though, always nice to get a good result.

Nothing much of interest going on around here, but that is a good thing as far as I am concerned - lol

Here-just like every morning.
Yesterday I was super productive--it was so weird. Something is going on with me, it's like I'm changing but in a GOOD way. I'm getting calmer and better at my job. Better at just being present at my desk and working. WEIRD, hey???? Believe me it is a big, big turnaround. I have always had big problems with focus and patience and with just getting really, really bored really easily. I actually feel like I'm growing as a person, how is that possible at this old age? Kidding.
It really is amazing, this sobriety thing. It's like giving yourself the room to grow and change without interruption of craziness and chemicals. Well, there's still craziness but it's not life-altering anymore. I'm not burning relationships or quitting jobs or being evicted anymore.
Yes everyone is very stoked about our gorgy new PM. He's only 43! And he has an earth tattoo. And he used to be a snowboard instructor. :-/

Haha, IP...I've heard it said that in addition to alcoholism being progressive and growing even when we are not active in our addiction, that it also stunts our maturity while active. So, based on that equation, I should soon be 30 in maturity, despite my advanced years on this planet. So, congrats on your advancing maturity.

In other news, I heard an interesting comment at an AA mtg where topic was humility. A wise old timer shared that he had much to say about humility...then he passed. When less is more - I guess?

Hi overs. I missed a few days. Hope you're all ok.

Drake, hope your arm gets sorted out.

Wolfie, your aiming for the moon, master Chef! Nice one!

Well, we're not much wiser about our jobs, we have to have interviews in the next few days and morale at work isn't good. I'm pretty calm, considering, but it's no good worrying ifs and buts till we know more. 400 more to go as well as the 500 from Coke ovens and plate mills so we're just waiting for the axe to drop!

Hi Mags, InPar, Drake, FBL, Itchy, Toots, D, IWL, Saskia, Andy, HL, Fly, Eshgham, all the overs that arnt here

Want to get writing a short story or book possibly I'm really interested not sure if id be good or not but there seems to be a desire to do so, so il try researching where to get started

Also sick & tired of waiting on therapy I think I want to work it means basically saying I don't need help when I do & if I work il never be able to access this help my brother was laid off today so I feel if we both got back on site I could glide on his wing for the first couple weeks and then detatch and take off like a NASA rocket well that's my thinking its a lot to consider

I'm a bit up n down today as this post will prove but I'm sober & I'm not getting any younger these are the best years of my life and I'm losing them I'm speaking financially & recreationally holidays etc

Going to stay calm spend some time reading & a lil posting

Goodnight Overs

Hey Wolfie, I accessed a short story writing course in night class at my local college. And I think there are plenty of on line writers groups. Pick op a pen and start writing!
My old tutor always said first start writing badly..... In other words, you can't write until you pick up a pen and it doesn't matter what drivel you write to start with, just get those muscles moving!

It's been a busy couple of weeks so I haven't been here so much, I've been reading when I can though, everyone seems ok which is always great.
