TOD has One Year Clean!
As far as his weight is concern, it's easier to put on weight than to take it off. And I don't have to tell you how bad being overweight is bad for one's health and self-esteem. When I got clean and sober and 2004 I was 40 pounds overweight from all the alcohol I was drinking. The Atkins low-carb diet was the trend then. To this day I still use the low-carb model. It's okay to splurge once in a while like a Thanksgiving dinner and all the trimmings. When you get to a certain age and your overweight you have to learn when to stop and eat in moderation. Cut out or cut down on the sweets and snacks. I know it's a tall order but it can be done if you put your mind to it.
This is what I had for dinner last night. Polish kielbasa cut in thin slices to give the impression of there's more. On top, Italian romaine lettuce, creamy seasons salad dressing, sprinkled graded cheese and oregano. A Pellegrino water. I stay away from desserts during the week. Weekends is a different story LOL
I know Jethro can be headstrong at times but if he want to see old age he has to take better care of himself Time to put your foot down, dear one
Hugs and prayers

That's a very nice, spacious living room TB! And, $625 is cheap as chips! How awesome!
I'd love to hear the whole story! It sounds absolutely awful! I'm well acquainted w/awful lol. Ongoing medical problems, diseases, foreclosure, bankruptcy, homelessness....hubs & I have done it all lol. And if you'd like to hear our full story, just let me know.
Oh man, Tod, when I quit drugs, the receptors in my brain went hog wild! And the 1 that controlled my eating just broke! Lol! I was always hungry. I never felt full, which was really weird because I had been used to eating 5-6 little meals/day for the prior 30yrs.! Wtheck??? Lol!
I'm going to start including Jethro in my nightly prayers.

Hello Everyone!
Jethro was back at mom's today to check her car battery! It's now charged and back in her car. The funny thing though was Jethro had just gotten home and mom called him. She couldn't figure out how to release the emergency brake on her car! He told her how and she said: "Well just chit!" ROFL I then told Jethro that tells us she's never used her emergency brake before! She's had this car for a little under two years! Still lots of things on it she's figuring out how to use or what it's for!
Jethro is acting decent right now! But he might not be after taking a shower. That's usually when he'll take the pain pill! Ugh! Well hell! I guess he takes them whenever he wants to! I take cactus flower tablets all day myself for my aches and pains! Good old Advil works for the flare ups too!
TB: That picture of your living room looks much cleaner than the last picture I saw of it! ROFL I don't have an alarm in here either for the carbon Monoxide! However? I have a fan in the corner of the room pulling air/smoke from in here! So it takes care of anything gathering in here! Yes I bailed you out many times in one way or another! Even sent you cards to help cheer you up too! Friends are needed to help keep us upbeat and alive! You never did finish your story either! Foot tapping here!
KZ: Thanks for adding Jethro to your nightly prayers!
Gotta scoot! Delivery Pizza for supper tonight! And NO KZ don't go there with me over the calories from it! I've given up a lot and I treat myself to something good here and there! LOL Besides! I can only eat one slice!
Wishing everyone a clean day!

So you know?
Mom drives a Fiat!
And? Jethro came in here two hours ago to take a look at the stove! He found a bolt that was loose. He tightened it and I haven't smelled any gas since then! I had to laugh when he said: "Yep! I actually got a wiff of gas just then!" Well Hallelujah! He's not nose blind after all!

Here's Molly snuggled underneath my grandma's homemade quilt that she has fallen in love with! She's got her head stuck out so she can watch TV.
Here's poor Marvin mourning in his carrier! That's diced tomatoes and bologna on the little plate! He eventually got around to eating it all.
Here's Maria on the back of the couch looking out the window for her daddy to come home!

I decided two days ago to take the time to go thru my Favorite files! OMG! What a task! There were tons of sites saved. A lot of them were Jethro's too! We used to share this computer! So glad that isn't the case anymore!
Anything that looked like his? I copied the link and put it in an email to him. I'm sure he was cussing when he opened that email and saw all those links! LOL
There was also a lot of links that no longer existed! So those were easy! Delete and go to the next one! LOL
I really need to start going thru my inbox on my emails and start dealing with all of those too! It's too tasking to do all at once though. So I've been trying to do around 10 a day!
It's things like this that have accumulated while I was popping pain pills! Too many things that didn't matter to me then that do matter to me now!

Those are adorable, Tod! I especially like the 1 of Maria looking for her daddy. Our baby's do that too. The second we walk out the door, Dora & Rosie ( son's chi-poo ) are on the back of our sofa ( & most of the time still there when we return. ) I've often wondered if those 2 stay there the entire time were gone lol.
I know what you mean about deleting files. I've had the same email for approximately 10yrs. & I used to delete my mail, but I haven't done it now for 4-5yrs. There must be 10's of 1000's to delete by now...yikes! Lol! But I don't have a pc since we pawned it last yr, so have no idea.
TB, I hope I didn't scare you away?
Now for my life story! This is actually only about 10yrs of it, but so many things happened to the hubs & I during that time, it seems like a life story lol.
"In sickness & in health." I'm sure glad my hubs meant those words when he married me, because most men have left. 20yrs ago, when I was 29, I was at work when I started to feel horrible. Everything hurt, I had a dark red blotchy rash from my neck down & I had a temp of 105°. I went to the emergency room because there was something terribly wrong with me. They didn't have a clue! Maybe Typhoid or Rheumatic Fever, but no, I had not been out of the country.
I went from being perfectly healthy to deathly sick almost immediately! 105°-106° temps every night ( along w/my what my hubs said was luke cold baths, but as far as I was concerned, he could have been dipping me into water from the Arctic & I couldn't tell the difference lol. ) Arthritis so bad that I couldn't turn myself over in bed or dress myself & that ugly red, blotchy rash ( didn't itch, burn, etc )
Fast forward 4mos & after seeing multiple specialists, I still didn't have a diagnosis ( lupus was added to the possible maybes. ) By this time, I genuinely thought I was going to die ( & wanted to at times. ) My hubs was absolutely awesome! He got an extra part time job so we could make our bills, took care of our 3 kids and me, made all the arrangements for our kids to be taken care of when he was working. Basically, he did everything, as I was barely able to walk. I knew that man was a keeper! Lol!
Continuing, it was in the 4th Mo. that I was finally diagnosed. I was in the critical care unit, in seclusion since they didn't know if I was catchy. I have very little memory of the 2wks I was there. But, the hospital called a rheumatologist from big city an hour away & he diagnosed me w/Stills Disease. It was very rare for an adult to contract this disease ( normally a children's disease. )
It took me a yr & 1/2 to get back on my feet & thankfully, my work let me come in 1hr/day for a 1wk, then 2hrs/day the 2nd 1wk & so on. I got up to 20hrs eventually, but try as I may, couldn't make it physically past that. So I became partially disabled at the ripe old age of 29.
Four yrs later, we'd bought our dream home w/10 acres & a river running through it. It became our little mini farm when we bought about a dozen animals to raise.
Everything was super! We were living our dream! But 4yrs after we there, disaster struck again. My hubs was sick w/what we thought was the flu, but w/in 3 days, he was in the emergency room ( in a pretty small town. ) That was on a Sat. At 1st, they said he could go home in a few hrs, but he had pneumonia. We progressively got worse & the doctor told me that "the 1 thing we don't want this thing to be is ARDS ( Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. ) ARDS had an 80% mortality rate back then. I prayed, please God, don't let him have that. That particular prayer wasn't answered in the way I wanted. They aeromed him to the University of Mi hospital in Ann Abor.
He was in a coma & on life support. The doctor's gave me 0 hope & at the end of the 1st wk., I hadn't slept and was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. My doctor put me on xanax.
2wks in, he started to contract other diseases because the body in weakened form is very susceptible. And, at the end of the end of the 3rd wk., his chances of living were now negative 250 some percent. The skin on his lower legs & feet turned black & started falling off. A normally slim man w/a lifetime waist of 30", he ballooned up to over 200lbs from the water & poisons running through body.
It was at this time that the doctors gave me 5 government experimental treatments to look over ( there was no known cause nor cure at this time. ) They told me to pick 3 in an ascending order & to reject the last 2. I have often wondered what would happen if they had given those experiments to someone w/o low IQ? I looked them over & researched as much as I could & gave them my decisions. I only agreed to 2 of them because the other 3 seemed far too risky. They started the new treatment.
Happily, after 31 days in a coma, he woke up! He still wasn't out of the woods. After a wk., he was transferred to the intensive ward ( upgraded ), but was right back in critical care a day later. An ARDS patients lungs look like a drowning victim's lungs & he was having a difficUlt time coughing the mucus out of his lungs. It would be about month before he could come home.
He still had 2 IV's when he came home & couldn't walk ( muscles atrophy after laying in a bed for 2 mos. ) A nurse came to our home & showed me how to care for his IV's & such. It would be 13 more months of physical therapy before he could work again.
Okay...break time lol! I've never been able to keep stories sort and sweet lol!

Forbid if I ever live anywhere close to her. She would have me doing chores around the house even though I'm permanently disabled and need a walker to get around

Remember that SUCKER word written on my forehead?
Jethro just left to go pick up a 6 month old Silkie chicken! It's the last one left out of nine! Something has nabbed the others and this one survivor is outside in a pen with large breed chickens. They are all picking on it! So they put an add out for someone to take it home! Jethro saw the add and wanted to go get it!
The woman is afraid it won't last the night. It's going to be 36 degrees later tonight and it's been raining! It will sleep tonight in our nice warm house! Another person wanted to get it, but after I told her daughter all the stories about our Hen House here at home? She chose us to come get it! I mentioned the other person and she said: "It's my decision who to give it to!" I chose y'all!
