Class of March 2011 Part 27
Hey hey! All is fine, aussie, thanks. Not much to report here. Did a bit of traveling this week. Went to Chicago for a couple nights, and then up north to our cabin for a few nights. In person college is not happening for my kids, so they will both be home taking their classes on line. I went from an empty nester to a full nester. haha. It should be fun to have them around this term. Hopefully the freshman can go to campus in January. My oldest should be graduating in Dec. so his campus life is over. Sad for him. Fall is coming, so that's exciting. Hopefully we all won't get TOO claustrophobic this winter with the covid thing. I've still not had a meal indoors at a restaurant. Still being very careful. Anyway.
Hope you all are well! xo

Hellooooo Marchers! Or whoever is left here, lol. Really cooling off here now as we head into fall. It's so nice, have a fire going now.
I celebrated 9 years since I quit smoking, a few days ago. Yay! Man, I'm glad I did that. Shoulda done it sooner, but I should have done a lot of things sooner. I let myself smoke from March 2011, when I quit drinking, to Sept 2011 cuz I thought giving up both would be too hard. Then I was ready to give up my crutch and that worked for me.
Heading up north for some fall colors this weekend, that's about the only fun planned right now!
Hope you're all well and that you check in soon. xx

I got off the smokes years ago , I never looked back not like the booze that just keeps calling.
I had my Mum in the hospital this week , called an ambulance , she was having chest pain , her blood pressure was through the roof. She only spent the night in but really frightening .
Not much else happening here school holidays are on but it is a lot quiter than normal as the Queensland border is still closed .
It's still coolish here for this time of year , not complaining .
Love to all.

Congrats on over 100 days, Aussie! That's great!
Congrats on 9 years smoke-free, Mirage! Sorry about the boys' school ... it sure has been a switch for us. One thing that I've thought often is how grateful to be on THIS side of sobriety through this entire 2020. I can't imagine getting sober during it, although I know many have.
I celebrated 7 years of sobriety back in mid-Sept. Yay! I put a post out on fb, and one of my friends read it and got sober the next day. She's doing great and I'm sponsoring her now. One of the parts of this whole COVID thing that's been really good is the availability of Zoom AA now. I can literally go to a meeting at any time of any day, without even having to change out of my jammies! That's been super-helpful for me, and for many others.
How are you doing, Dee? Are things over there good? How is your health?

Congrat's on 7 years PBC and your upcoming 6 years Suze.
I have just hit 4 months.
Last day of the holidays here , already the village has emptied out I can only take so much of tourists , they don't respect the place the way the locals do. Picking up rubbish daily when there is a bin near by. Noise , noise , noise . Using the road as a speed way.
Yes I am getting old and grumpy.

I'm doing well PBC. We locked down in March for about 6 weeks but since then my state has been only very minimally affected by COVID.
I hope that continues.
Congrats on 7 years
Hope everyone else is OK

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Our fall colors are gorgeous right now. I was out running errands today and it was just breathtaking, driving down the roads. The trees are really something else. All is well here. My kiddo turned 19 this week, both boys are cruising along on line doing college. We were invited to Thanksgiving dinner by my in-laws and I really didn't want to sit around a table with 11 people, passing food around. I don't really know what she was thinking, but I very kindly expressed my concern and asked if we could play it by ear and see how the Covid numbers look in a month. She just cancelled it. lol I'm such a Scrooge, but c'mon. It's just not smart right now. So anyway, that was a bit stressful, but I think it went well.
Love ya, all! xo

I would hope so. Funny, when this all started for us in March, I figured it would be a long summer, but that we'd be way better off by fall. Now we're where we were in April. Sad. And people just like arguing about mask wearing. Dunno if it's like that there. It's sad, I think people just like to butt heads and fight. Tiring.
