One Year and Under Club Part 49
Thank you folks. I am glad to be back. One day at a time. I plan on posting atleast once a day and reading a great deal.
I have to say the past few days reading through the threads and checking out some posts. It makes me feel very positive. Some of you folks may remember walkingwithgod. He struggled a great deal in his early days. It made me very happy when I read that he is enjoying sobriety.

Hello everyone,
I'm just checking in . I was expecting some stormy emotional weather , and sure enough it came and blew hard.
There is more to come next weekend when my in laws arrive in town permanently.
I feel prepared, I clocked up five months on 7 November - and no-one is going to stop me getting to six months.
Thanks to everyone for your posts, you have all helped me pull through this patch.
Go well,
Fradley

Hang ink there Fradley, and also be aware that occasionally that sneaky AV doesn't show when you expect it.... No it waits for you to congratulate yourself on getting through something then pops up to say "Yay, let's celebrate!" Watch out for it! Keep strong.
BeFree well done on avoifpding temptation. Maybe begin regular meetings?
SJ I remember WWG, he sure had his early battles but yeah, he is ( literally) striding out now! You can too I know

Hey. Feeling a little on edge. Haven't had a group therapy for 2 weeks now, and my actual therapy doesn't start for another couple weeks. Did go to an AA meeting but there was a speaker who really pushed the god thing and I'm wondering since there is a brand new group for atheists and free thinkers on Monday nights (my yoga night of course) maybe those guys just going to that one now. Tonight there's one just for women and my yoga class is cancelled so I can go to it for tonight. I do get a lot out of the yoga--Monday I think she could tell I was having trouble staying focused so she offered to teach us a meditation and that was great. Now I know what that's all about. Reason why my mind was jumping around--there's a possibility of working as a baker at my work. I was over looking around for something for lunch and one of the girls asked me if I knew anyone who would be interested and I said I thought I might. It'd be great except it's a 4 am start shift lol. Plus my job has really gotten around to where I want it. For now anyway. Then there's the flip side--if I took the bakery job there'd be no more working nights and I'm just tired of working nights. I don't know--this is me just being complacent even if something else would be better for me--I get interested then get scared and don't follow through. There's a lot of pro's and cons for both I just really need to think it out in a rational manner...difficult for me but doable. Maybe If the weather holds I'll go for a hike today ;-)
Officially made it to 6 months. Woohoo!
soberjim, I post on the 24 hour thread (check in once every 24 hours) first thing every morning and the Bedtime Gratitude every night. It helps to start and end my day thinking about my recovery.

Congratulations Site and Fradley, you are both working hard at your recovery and committing to your sobriety.
SJ some good advice there from Site, remembering why we have gratitude for our sobriety really helps especially in the early days when we can get lost.
BlueFairy, a list of pros and cons can help to focus your mind on what you really want to do. Is there another night you could do the yoga? Or a daytime class you could do before or after your shift? If you are missing the therapy maybe a journal will keep you working on what you feel you need to face?
