Day 28 for me today.
Went to the football, (soccer), yesterday, even met up with a couple of mates in the pub. Was not tempted to have a beer, just had 2 Irn Bru's.
Went into work today with a clear head.
Not only am I saving money by not drinking, I am earning more by working overtime.
This being sober thing is not too bad.
Thanks everyone and good luck.

Morning all! Day 26 and feeling great! Sobriety rocks!

Well, congrats on day 28!

Coloradoman and hope, congrats on 1 week!

8th Phoenix, sounds like a great plan for today. I also feel closest to God when I am in nature. Have a great day!

Tally, day 2 woohoo, and getting stuff done is so satisfying.

Welcome guy!

PHRD, love that fortune cookie. Yes, drinking is a disease and an addiction, but there's part of it that's a habit as well. Sometimes when I think I'm craving, it's really just a reflex reaction, walk into the house, pour a drink. I'm going to write that fortune down in my journal.

LWB, congrats on day 15. You sound very positive.

Welcome missyshelle!

Driftapart, yes, adoption is the way to go. My two girls are both rescues. They are angels with paws.

WWG, so proud of you. Sounds like you have a solid plan for sobriety on NFL Sunday. Go Pats! (I grew up in rhode island).

Gottawonder, good job on day 5!

Welcome samwitch and parke!

Boozefree, I admire you on getting the dogs walked so early in the morning!

Drybuss, thanks for the book recommendation. I'm going to check it out. Not sure if I believe in God or not, but it sounds like a good read.

Sorry for the folks I may have missed. I've read all your posts and am thinking of all of you. I hope to see you all on the podium tomorrow!

Nothin' wrong with sharing cute pics. Puts a smile on our faces at the cuteness.
Lol I actually did that. The caption was "this doesnt concern you, walk away daddy..." Lol

Thanks everybody on the comments. Day 12 is half over. Haven't really had many cravings. I'm getting destroyed in fantasy football this week. That's pretty much all I have to update with as of right now. Tomorrow I get the twins after work so im happy about that! It's amazing how that works. You sober up then you get things that truely matter in life. Anyway ill update later congrats on everybody for staying strong! You guys are awesome. But I gotta say something to the patriots fans on here....GO GIANTS

Soooo....,
been lurking around and thought I'd get my "feet wet" as this forum has always been a blessing to me.Last drink, 9/20/2012 after a 10 month period of sobriety.Have done a 3 year stretch not too long before that. Very discouraging to have been able to go for periods of time like that and yet somehow convince myself that....this time it will be different, that I deserve this, I can be like everyone else, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.By the grace of God I still am hanging on to most of my family,my job,my health AND my drivers license(truly a miracle).

Just wanted to say hello and thanks.

Hope I can be of help to someone, sometime too.

Just watched the Patriots game with a friend that does not drink. It was a good time. But, I feel tired and out of it today on day 8. Without you folks I am not sure if I would be sober, I feel accountable here. Can't wait to be on the podium tomorrow.

Did a half a**ed attempt at AA,did lots of meetings but never wanted a sponsor or "worked" any steps. I'm a big believer that one must decide for themself that it is not possible for some people to drink "normally".Period. I have always wanted to do more of whatever my drug/substance of choice was at the time, and strict abstinence was my only choice. It's when I think I can control my intake for whatever reason that I have quickly found it's the "I" that gets me end the end.
Wish that I had some great words of wisdom, but thats how I feel.
Someones been looking out for me my whole life regardless of how hard I try to screw things up ;-)

Sorry for the slow response, can only slowly type...hunt/peck and am smoking ribs sober for the fist time.
Almost done and look GREAT

Later on today (my time) I'll move this thread over to the new forum, but there'll be a redirect on it so everyone should be able to follow it without any trouble

wwg...Buccaneers made a nice come back, but the red skins pulled it out with 3 seconds to spare 23-24.

On the brighterside Price beat the Whitesox locking down his 20th win, and the Cy Young.

On an even brightside! It's 8PM. EST and we are sober!

Went to a hen (bachelorette) party tonight. Drank 3 red bulls. I was SO BORED! Don't think I ever liked the club scene except as a source of drugs or alcohol. Definitely don't like it as a sober person. In my bed now. Raging headache. So glad I didn't drink. Night all. Hope to see you all on the podium in the morning. xx

I'm now regretting the red bulls as I can't stop shaking from the caffeine but I'm exhausted and want to sleep!
