Weekender Thread 28 September -1 October 2018
Hey brother Snazzy fellow 2016 Sober Recoverer.
I'm not sure what you mean but I will take it as a compliment.
One thing for sure is I have not lost my authentic Irish accent believed by many to be one of the more romantic and beautiful accents in the world.
Who wouldn't fall for a genuine "How Ya" in good native tongue.

Evening Weekenders. It was a really tough week at work so I thought to myself, it’s close enough to Friday to have a barbecue on a weeknight!
Wishing you well MB, petals, Willow, Gilmer and anyone else in need of a few extra good vibes coming their way.

Good luck to young Dragon!
I hope you still have a great time Willow, at least you can be sure not to
be spending the mornings hungover.
A BBQ sounds a great idea Captain H!
Whenever I attempt to speak to anyone in French whether it be in person or on the phone, people tend to answer me in English which probably tells you a lot about my French.

Vinny, I’ve always gained the impression that your French is near excellent.
And now I am going to blow my own horn unashamedly, but I am conversant in Afrikaans (my home language), English and German, with an almost decent understanding and slightly worse expressive command of French. Living in a country with 11 official languages of which at least two are widely spoken in work setup helps a bit, of course. Still I bet that pales in comparison with what any number of people on this site may be capable of.

Hi Weekenders! I wish I still had the log in details to my old account, then I could be one of you 2016ers...
My dad had a little accident while sleep walking a few days ago and hurt his back. This weekend he and his wife will be away for a spa weekend and I thought I'd mail them to let their room service serve them a nice bottle of something on their arrival, as a little get well soon gift. So I was reading through their wine menu and maybe it should've been obvious that this isn't something recommended for recovering alcoholics. But my last craving is idk how long ago... ages!
Tonight it hit me by surprise though! And with what an intensity! All I want is a bottle of white wine or sparkling wine. How telling that I'm not even fantasising about a glass but a bottle, I'm definitely more honest with myself these days...
I think it has to do with being 2 weeks shy of 2 years sober, I suddenly had cravings again just before I reached one year.
Edit: Oh languages, I love them! I'm fluent in English, German and Swedish plus I do fluently understand (if that's a thing) Norwegian and have a decent understanding of Danish. Plus some rusty French and very basic Italian and Finnish. Now that was a nice distraction from my craving for a minute.
