Back to Sober Basics Weekender April 8th Part 2
Sorry for the negative posts.
I haven't been feeling well,
had two relapses with the flu
in the last month, combined
with every thing going wrong.
I've never felt like this before.
Personally I feel childish to have
been so weak. I had no-one to
speak to, that wouldn't just throw
textbook answers at me.
Thanks for all of your concern and your pm's.
I love you all.

Shotgun time in the morning!

You know what's amazing? First thing I do this morning is log on to see if lunar posted. You have no idea how much more relaxed I am already...
I don't share with my wife what goes on in this forum, she respects that. But whenever I feel someone is in trouble she hears about it, and she knows it affects me. She knew how worried I was about lunar last night.
I feel the same for everyone here.

started thinking about going back to work again - looking at things related to old job, just not exactly the same thing - not worth the aggravation...
There was heavy frost on the grass this morning - still cold but should warm up next week... clear nights = frost
oats were wet this morning but had strawberries as a bonus and almonds instead of walnuts. The bag of almonds was almost all so I finished it.
Okay, what did he say> That's right, they were almost all. We may have had this discussion. It's interesting trying to educate someone to the different accents, but then add the regional vernacular. Around these parts, when you say something is 'all' you are basically saying 'all gone' , finished or empty.
"Is it all yet?" is an accepted and understood question. "Yeah, it was all yesterday." Is an understood and accepted response. Ain't SUID?
"Ain't" is a one word sentence/question that is asking someone to acknowledge agreement. Or, many sentences are just ended with the word 'ain't'. So, you could actually say, "Ain't all the cereal all yet or ain't it." This is perfectly good sentence structure. And you could answer, "No it ain't, ain't." Translation, "Is there cereal in the box or is it empty." "No, there is still cereal in the box, do you agree [as in asking another person]"
I heard this on the way to grocer yesterday, my jeep has a super whamy-dine sound system and the bass line rocks.
Enjoy the day.

Good morning everyone.
So happy that you posted lunar. We are here for you and care about you. I hope you feel better, the flu can really tax us.
Hope your stomach is feeling better Ken.
Today is my second anniversary, I'm not where I want to be. It took a long time for these problems build up so it will take time for them to get straightened out.
Have a great day everyone.

Congratulations on 2 years, SUID. Keep working on life - are any of us ever where we wanted to be? I try to practice gratitude for where I am, rather than focusing on where I thought I'd be. Yes - we spent a lot of time digging holes for ourselves. As long as you're making progress on filling in that hole, all is well. Baby steps. Patience. Progress, not perfection. I have to remember this when I start to feel despair.
What's this world (country) coming to? It seems you can't get cheap rims any more for your car. Why would I pay 80 bucks for one steel wheel for POS honda civic just to throw my winter tires on it? You gotta be kidding me! Wife likes that expression and uses it often. hahaha
And it is against the law in the u.s. of a to NOT fix the TPMS system if it goes bad. $$$!!! So it looks like a local tire shop with swap out the wheels for 26 bucks an axle. 52 bucks + tax twice a year a year. What's the break even point on 400 bucks incl mount and balance... 4+ years? Is she gonna total the car within that time? So many questions... I am a planner... gotta do a CBA on this before I move... It's also a lot easier to store just tires vs tires and rims...
All input is welcome. It's 10 o'clock costco is open... That's all.
costco 10 bucks a tire + tax = $42.40 - costco wins again!

Hey congrats on 2 years SUID! I'm over two years and still trying to figure out what I wanna be when I grow up. Assuming of course that is in the realm of possibilities.
Just keep going forward. And remember to use a gratitude list to remind yourself when you are feeling down about your present situation. Things could always be worse and probably would be if we were still drinking or getting effed up all the time.
