I'm liking the Springers too I think I'll go play with that title in my font library and mess around in photoshop for a bit.

Take care everyone!

Day 13 for me. An unlucky day to drink, I think.

Congrats to everyone! I slipped up the last few days but I'm going to make it this time. If I can just get past the 3 day hurdle (for me anyway).

Being part of the April class makes me feel like I'm part of something and have others to hold me accountable. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Have a great weekend all. Hope to have a clean weekend and good report for Monday.

I know what you mean. The thought of the way to go's I've been getting turning to keep trying's keeps me keeping on. Every little bit of motivation helps.

Add me too please. I am 8 days sober now!!! OMG I can't believe I just wrote that. I couldn't have imagined it when I dumped the booze last week and didn't know if I was honestly going to wake up.

Tons of love and support to all in recovery.

Yep, I'm on board too. April 23, coming to the end of Day 2 now. Might be a bit hard for me tomorrow, I'm an ex-serviceman, and tomorrow here in Australia we celebrate ANZAC Day (I guess it might be like Memorial Day to those in the USA). It's the day where where Australia remembers all the service personnel who have fought, and fallen for our country in all wars. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. April 25 is the memorial date and is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. So CarolD, your anniversary is very auspicious here in Australia!

Go here if you want to know more: Australian War Memorial - The ANZAC Day tradition

So if there's any other ex-military folks out there who have strategies to cope with the high emotion of their nation's armed forces special day, please let me know!

I'm not an exserviceman, but thanks for your service LaV.

I guess it must be hard on the day - a lot of guys really let go tomorrow....but there's always gonna be occasions like these.

We just have to remember we're not like all the other guys.

I'd try and keep in focus the reasons you have for wanting to remain sober - and try and remember what alcohol does to you and keep that foremost in your mind.

If you're catching up with mates, can you stick close to the ones who don't drink? (I'm guessing there must be a few?)

Thanks Dee, yeah I have a "wingman" (who I've told about my sobriety) and I'm driving. So there's two things in place at least. Thread hijack over...

Made it through day 1 (again). Will be busy today. Away from home and with the family so not much time to sneak away and drink which is a good thing. Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning everyone (well, afternoon). I bid a wide welcome to everyone just joining, and a congrats on another day sober for all of us. Whether you're on day one, or one-thousand and one, I applaud you, because you are here wholly as your true self, and being your true self takes so much more courage after hiding beneath the veil of alcohol we all once found comfort with.

It's a gray, rainy day here, but I'm still feeling motivated to do stuff. Sober stuff

I hope everyone's day goes well!

Blessed be,
WW

On day 13 here. The last time I went twelve days without a drink was in 2002. That, in my books, is insanity. So this is the longest Ive been sober in 8 years!

Feeling good, Whitewave, Mary Rita, Kmber, Rev, Lavellette and everyone else in the April group, keep up the good work!

Well, since it's now tomorrow, allow me to congratulate you on 21 years of sobriety! Since I started drinking before I turned 21, I have never known a stretch of clear-headedness so long! Congratulations on your accomplishment. May you enjoy the next 21 years even more than the last.

Happy Sunday everyone! Huge hugs and congrats to CarolD!

I hope everyone's day is going well; congrats Marlow - that's great to hear! Keep on keeping on!

I spent the afternoon doing chores and it felt AWESOME! And it feels even better to be sitting here right now, naturally tired, not exhausted from drinking while doing chores. Also, clean house, clean mind! It's totally true - it feels so much better to have everything all orderly and dust-free; clothes all warm, fresh from the dryer. I even washed my sneakers!

Also, yesterday my SO bought me two new little fish for my tiny 10 gal tank that I started during my long sober streak this past winter. It's so zen to watch them chilling out, zipping back and forth, getting along

The SO is a tricky topic/ One of these days or nights, I'll post about it all in the women's support forum, because I could certainly use the perspective of other women in recovery. I have a lot of concerns, but none that I feel like bringing up right now. Instead, right now, I think I'm going to relax with my cat and watch the fishies for a bit

Take care all! Blessed be,
WW

Hi dudes! I am jumping aboard the Class of April forum and happy to be here. Is April a great month to quit, or what? I've had the fortune of two continuous days of gorgeous weather, and gone swimming outside twice this week! Happy anniversary to Carol and all others celebrating right now, and my best to all my fellow newcomers to SR . . ! Let's do this!
