I'm in the class of April! My sobriety date is April Fool's Day! Isn't it ironic? I think not! |
Hi Everyone......:wavey: Several years ago a member started a "Class of __________" thread. The idea was that anyone who started their sobriety during that month ...joined ...and supported each other in their early sobriety. Members not new to sobriety ..but who had quit during that month ...also shared their experiences. Wow! these became so popular ....other members with various months.....started more. Some faded away....some grew to 500 shares and then moved over to our Daily Support Forum.... and have remained active. That's the history of our SR Class of threads. :yup: |
Carol here....a recovered AA alcoholic. My current date of sobriety is April 25 obviously I'm not new but...... I too belong in the April Class.....:yup: Glad to see others come join us.... Yes! you too can win ....there are many ways to move forward into a healthy better future :c011: |
It's good to see members here supporting each other. This is a good place to check in daily and share your ups and downs with people who understand. |
LOL April is a good month to quit. I belong here too Carol - Good Friday 2007 is my sobriety date :D It's always good to see so many new people coming together! :) D |
Good to see you back unbrokenchain. WooHoo! I'm still in the class of december 09 but will be checking in here to see how you're doing. |
Day 2. I was sitting in a meeting last night and it occurred to me that it's stupid for me to be looking for a loophole. Everyone before me has already done so and failed. It's kinda like the wife or husband that hires a private detective to see if their mate is cheating I think. If you have have that much suspicion in the first place, nine times out of ten, you're gonna find out they are cheating! So, if I'm going to AA and reading these books, then I'm an alcoholic. There is no fricken loophole. And if it bothers me so much that I have to try to dissect the books, and the program and the verbiage...ie: "can't quit, or won't quit?", then it is painfully obvious that my problem is bigger than me. I am a Nurse and I'm used to caring for others, not myself. My name is Helluvacook and demmit, I'm an alcoholic! |
I'm on day 6, so I guess I'm class of March 2010 - can we still be friends? |
Sure thing buddy. :biggthump |
Yes, we do understand how hard it is! |
unbrokenchain.... How did that natural de tox work for you? Is you new date of sobriety April 1? Welcome back....:yup: |
Welcome back UBC :) D |
UBC....:).... Your de tox experience is totally different than the way I de toxed. Interesting. No I did not go to either a treatment center or de tox facility I had no idea that withdrawing from alcohol could be dangerous.....:duh: In retrospect ..I wish I had done mine with my doctors supervision and knowledge. My 3 days of withdrawal were horrific and certainly absolutely risky. I'm so glad I only had one de tox ...:yup: |
April members.....who is here and moving forward? :) UBC-Dee-Carol for certain. To all SR members.... If you are starting or re starting your recovery this month.....please join with us. If you do have April as your DOS ..date of sobriety please come share with us too. April is a time for new beginnings ....:You_Rock_ |
