Hi, my last use was 4/19/10. I've tried to quit probably about 100 times over the past 20 years. I got my first DWI in February 2010 and that got me thinking that something is seriously wrong and I have to change. I finally came out of denial. I'm ashamed and embarrassed about the DWI. I see that drinking and driving is just evil now that I'm not in denial anymore. I also see what alcohol and constantly smoking weed has done to my life.
Anyway, glad to be part of the class of April 2010. Wish me luck........ Robin

I got one too.....hit another car, I know what you mean I could have really hurt somebody, I would have never been able to forgive myself.....dont want to think what it cost me. Never quit quiting. Peace,Lazyboy

Last night was rough but I made it. Starting to be able to look at myself in the mirror (literally) and be proud of myself.

I'm just so darn tired today, what's up with that? No energy at all. I'm getting 7-8 hours of actual sleep. Not pass out for 4 hours then spend the rest of the night trying to fall back asleep. I take a multi-vitamin and B supplements (always have).

And I don't know if I'm majorly depressed or if it's just that I'm tired. I don't care about anything today and want to just go back home and stay in bed all day.

Last time I was sober (2 yrs ago for 3 months) I don't remember all these emotions and depression and lack of energy.

WHAT HAS THIS DISEASE DONE TO ME!!??!!

Day 17 for me. Been fighting with some serious anxiety lately. The desire to drink has been fading; for me, the more days I have, the more I feel I'll lose if I have to go back to day one. I'm grateful for that. I've just had bouts of sudden tension, fine one minute, grrr the next.

Going ok most of the time. Can't even believe I'm nearing the one month mark.

Find myself feeling unpatient sometimes and then balanced the next.
Mommy skils are improving big time and I'm not ashamed to take some time out for myself as well because I'm not doing it to get over hangovers now.

Dreaming like crazy though, like lots of blocked out emotions are finding there way back to be dealt with.

Rev, you've been a rock on this thread, keep up the good work. 25 days Andi! That's a great accomplishment. May is just around the corner and soon we can say we made it sober into a new season.

I'm not really new. I posted here about five years ago. I've never gotten sober for very long. I'm trying again. My last drink was April 18. I'm almost scared to talk about it for fear I might jinx it.
