Class of March 2016 part 44
PJ - funny thing is I used to think of an anchor as being weighted down, now it symbolizes being grounded and attached. ❤❤
Dee - I honestly didn't think getting this far was possible when I started...thanks for being everywhere. ❤

Hugs Bobbie!
Hi everyone! It's been a crazy busy week. Hubby FINALLY got home Tuesday morning, we've been on the go ever since. I am really looking forward to staying home today! I just wish laundry wasn't apart of that day around the house.
Today is technically day 1 for me but it is a day 1 without any regrets, hangover or shame. Hubs and I went out kid free to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We went to a really nice restaurant. I had the best steak I have ever had in my LIFE! We had lobsters bisque, lobster mashed potatoes and Gorgonzola mac-n-cheese along with these amazing steaks. The basket of bread was 4 different kinds of artisan breads including pretzel rolls that were to die for. My hubby and I each had 1 glass of wine. ONE, me only one? Usually I would try and get one glass down before the meal even came. By the end of the meal I still wasn't finished with it. Wow this must be what it's like to be a normie! I had no desire to get drunk or even a buzz. Maybe the food was just that good, I don't know but it I'll be honest I don't regret it in the least. I have no illusion that it could always be that way, and no false hope of moderating, I am definitely back on the wagon today.
I am still dreaming about that bisque and basket of bread!

BBG Thanks for sharing the quote..... it reminds of me of the one by George Carlin: "Just because you got the monkey off your back doesn't mean the circus has left town" ~ something I need to keep in mind constantly!
Glad to be here today with you all

Hey! Late check in. Went to mtg this morning, saw a friend who had a baby, visited my parents and now I'm back home. Going to run, visit with Kamry and then play cards.
Could use your prayers and good vibes. My son has been kicked out of his dad's. He is living in his car. I need strength to not enable him.
Love you guys.
Have a good day!

Good mornin' Marchers. Startin' fluid and day planning goin' on here.
I copied this from another thread (March 2017?) and it struck me as true so I'm passing it along:
"Just because you close the door on alcohol, doesn't mean it's gone away, it's still there and because the illness is progressive, it will be bigger and stronger should you ever open that door again."
So true, so true!

Wow! That's great and so true BBG. Thx for sharing!
Be careful PR. You may have awoken the "beast". I remember having 1 beer (ONE) the first time I drank again after 5 years & 8 months of continuous sobriety. I had that ONE beer and that was IT! I convinced myself I was cured! I was a "normie"!
Well within 4-6 weeks I was right back to where I was before my 5 years and 8 months of sobriety only it was much MUCH worse. My damn AV tried to trick me and almost ruined my life...AGAIN!
Alcoholics will never ever NOT be alcoholics again. We will never be able to drink normally again. You probably already know all of this but I care about you and want to make sure you're ok!
Congrats on your anniversary and the steak and lobster sounded like it was amazing!!! Love u!

Glad you're feeling more at peace Bobbie. I can't believe how different you seem from when we first 'met', it's really wonderful to see.
Congrats on 90 days Sam!! I'm loving your reflective posts lately.
Phoenix I thought I'd find kong up above myself this morning, rain + the neighbours donkey was on my deck again (which is above my bedroom)
