UP, hope you feel better soon.

Mariah, what a fab job you have! Enjoy the zip lining.

Obo, the feeling of overwhelm is a big stress. I only have a small vegetable patch, and that causes me a lot of angst! I have to keep telling myself that nature will always take back the earth. I find that quite comforting to know that whether I break my back clearing it, or choose to just watch the weeds grow, that nature will one day take it back anyway. It sort of puts my efforts in to perspective in a quirky kind of way. Takes the pressure off a bit.
It'll take a while to find out the best ways to manage your land, don't expect too much of yourselves in the first year, all will be well over time <3

Birthdays are always a good time to reflect and regroup

Take care all.

For what it's worth I agree Obo - you don't want to spend the rest of your life this way.

Any good therapists up your way?

Obo-2 acres was overwhelming for me - can't imagine 20! Our new house actually has 2 acres as well ... but also a fenced backyard so it makes it easier to ignore the rest .

Up- are you feeling better? I hope you have something to take your mind off things- a good tv show to binge on?

Are you ziplining, Mariah? You're brave! Do one for me too!

Well, I've been at a family funeral this weekend- but got to see my brothers- that always makes me happy.

Sobriety has helped me feel better w people I've noticed.weird. And I came to believe that alcohol was helping me. I think it was taking more than I realized.

Nite fools

Obo,.... maybe young fruit (and/or nut ) trees spaced far enough apart to create a beautiful orchard in a decade !?
I was thinking how overwhelming this gigantic one acre lot is too Izzy !

Before the developer next to me put his fancy fence up, I never even thought about the property line, because it's such a woolly tropical scene with everything competing for the sunlight, ....and I had my hands full trying to keep 1/2 acre cut back.
20 acres sounds like tractor-time ?!!

Glad you got to see your brothers Izzy,...... seeing family with some sobriety really seemed to shed more light on how wonderful it truly is ,..for me.

Freein, ......almost finished hauling the debris field that used to be my yard. It's forced me into physical activity,...for sure. Getaway sticks are getting a little stronger bending over a million times anyway.

Congrats on walking away from the smokes Up !
I gave them up for 7 years in my 30's and never felt better, before, or since. You'll be surprised how grueling bike rides are realistically possible now,...if you have a decent ride that fits .

Always figured I'd smoke before I drank again if my sobriety became fragile, so being a nonsmoker became an important circuit breaker as a red flag in sobriety. ( if that makes sense )

Mariah, ....if 86 year olds are doing it ,...well,

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..................you better do it too .
Otherwise, they may want your job next !

Tops, I know exactly what you mean about having something like smoking as a red flag to your sobriety. That's exactly how I feel about my dietary choices, I'll renege on my vegan lifestyle before taking a drink. I know that if I start drinking again, then any other healthful habits will be blown out anyway, so it makes sense to use something that's dear to my heart as a buffer.
And I must admit, I have resorted to dairy chocolate on many occasions. Not something I'm proud of, but it was the better choice at the time.

Why are human beings so spectacularly complicated?

UP, hope you're starting to feel better today.

I'll give it a try tomorrow.....Niece called me last night to see if I could get the kids & the 2 & 3 year old are a busy pair. Took them all out to the corn maze farm today & nephew on zip line. I am exhausted & sore....had to take them back a bit ago & leaving them there is heart wrenching.

A warehouse just with bathroom stuff? Good luck obo.

I'm sure it was bad leaving them, Mariah.
You can upload videos to tinypic.

I've been paying for my adventure & 2 days walking around that Farm. I think my feet have gotten worse than my hands. I only worked in the office today & was absolutely wiped out come 8 hrs there. Have a good night/day all

Sun came out today, made a huge difference.

Wettest winter in 30 years here....

Right back to basics, to the point of breath awareness when angst or depressive thoughts arise.

It's 9 years today since my best friend killed himself. He hung himself from a gumtree.

It's this history of mine, during the real chaos of drinking, that is right back in my face to haunt me.

HK, was an escape for me from facing such a hard back story. If I can't settle it myself soon I think therapy is an option.

Hope all are well.

If you could 'settle it yourself' wouldn't you have done that by now, though, Obo?

Are you feeling better UP? Hope the cold is gone.

Mariah, enjoy a well deserved rest. Glad you survived the zip lining.

Obo, it does sound like it's time to consider some outside help, it could make all the difference for you. I'm pleased the suns out for you, it's getting wet and cold here

The next few days are going to be a bit busy here, I'm looking at care homes and care agencies for my parents, so I might not be able to check in every day. It seems a complicated process to sort these things out, but hopefully we'll have something in place before Mum's respite ends.

All tricky stuff.

I still have a little bit of the cold. I think I'm on the tail end.
Good luck with the search free.

Therapy might be a wise choice obo.

You could pm us the link Mariah, that way you control who sees it.

Sorry I wasn't around much this week - music and scooter maintenance

I'm not really meant to remove things once they're posted. Maybe the PM link is the best way to go Mariah?
