Well done UP on your decision to give up the cigarettes
It'll be great for your health, and your wallet!

Mariah , hope you feel better soon.

It's been a long day here, my eyes are tired, so I'm ready for some yin yoga before I go to bed.

Noolan, congrats on 9 months - that's a great achievement.

Tops, I totally agree with you about the nutrition vs medical approach. There are a few doctors who are starting to speak out against the overuse of pharmacology. It is interesting to see how it develops over time.

Hope everyone else is feeling more energetic than I am.

Sup Fools

Four days cig free. Unfortunately I think I'm getting a cold. Not enjoying that and the cravings working together.

Hope you all are doing well.

So sorry you're feeling badly Mariah, no fun! I hope they get it figured out

Congrats Noolan and way to go up on quitting- that's got to be hard

How's country life today obs?

We finally moved! And I will admit - I love the new digs- and being closer to town ...

Have you started the volunteer work up? I'm going to do that too ... once we get moved in

Love y'all!

Glad to hear you've moved in to your new home, Izzy. Happy days ahead

4 days UP!

Mariah, hope you feel better soon.

I've been trying to be a bit more energetic at work, trying to generate some enthusiasm and optimism (from myself!) I thought the "fake it till you make it" ethos might be worth trying, but quite honestly it's exhausting! On a positive note, I enjoyed meeting with a job coach on Monday - and I've booked to see her for 3 more sessions. Hopefully when she's finished with me, I might have a better perspective on things. I know I should be grateful to have a job,

Early night here.

Up- Great job on quitting! I've failed nicotine probably 6 times in the last 9 months.

Mariah- I hope you feel better soon!

Izzy- Congrats on moving, I know how laboring that can be.

Free- I hear yah on imposing the positive. For me, it's all about effort in remaining positive. I'm going to have moments that I'm simply in a bad mood. My solution is understanding it's a natural part of life, but not to stew in it. Process it, and push through it. Try to view every obstacle as an opportunity.

Well, life is good on my end. I'm flat broke until Tuesday, but get paid and will be getting a student loan refund, so I will pinch what little pennies I have till then.

School is going well. I'm so happy to be in this program and working towards something I want. Work is work, it's not terrible, but not something I'm very passionate about. I catch myself trying to take short cuts all the time that only benefit me and doing a decent job of curbing those bad habits. I also had a phone interview yesterday for another job, so that's cool. Till next time, fools.

Glad school is going well Noolan........you are doing great! It's amazing what we can live without when we don't have money.....it's the little things in life sometimes.

Hope working with the job coach brings some options to you Free. Has your Mom made the move to assisted living?

Congratulations on the move Izzy! I'm sure it will be nice to get all settled again. Take it easy

We're still waiting to hear when a bed becomes available, Mariah. It'll just be for a week in the first instance, to give my dad a break, then, if she likes it we'll plan on permanent placement. I want her to feel in control of the situation as much as possible.

Friday already! In for the Bargain too!

Mariah- Thanks! I also just installed and app that's just a sober clock.

Freein- Sounds like you have a solid plan. I know family transitions like that are not easy. Keep it up!

UP- MORNNNNNNNNNING! Even though it's evening. Fight through the cold, bruh!

Good Friday overall. Found a pound of baby portabella on sale for $2.49, so I'm making vegan sloppy joes tonight. One of the vegan recipes that I still make. Plus the slider buns, jalapeno, tomato paste, and onion, I'm getting dinner and lunch for $5.

In the middle of a workout currently and listening to a motivational speaker. He was discussing loneliness and how when he was homeless loneliness was something that allowed himself to grow and get to know himself. He suggested that if you don't love yourself, take sometime to be alone.

It's crazy when life gives you exactly what you need to hear in right moment. I was feeling a bit down because my sister texted me that I can invite people to her wedding next week, if I already had not. I felt down, because this go around I have cut out a lot of people and am exercising patience in who I bring around. Yet, still in the moment I felt down. Hearing that quote really was the confirmation I needed that I'm doing exactly what I need to do. Trust the process and be in for the bargain.

Cheering you on here Up hope your feeling better soon

Home tonight ......has been a busy week. I am going with our sweet peeps tomorrow to a pumpkin patch, corn maze, pumpkin chucking Farm. Should be a fun time I am scared of heights but I guess it is tradition for them (average age about 86) to zip lining at the Farm.....so I'm thinking if they are doing it I might have to face a fear & go with them. I'll let you know if that happens.

Be Cool Fools

I've never been zip lining. It's good that they are active.

I'm managing, just like sobriety .. one day at a time.

Have a great day everyone.

I'm having problems.

They are resulting in anger, confusion and an almost permanent angst.

My mind is all over the shop.

I appear to be in some sort of control, but am burning inside at times.

There's so much to do here on 20 acres, I can't even start......

Need to get right back to basics.

I intend to be much more accountable here, I hope it's ok to go over all that's in my mind.

I might have to do a daily trip into the community centre and use their computer. The phone is hard to get a release through.

I turn 42 in a week, now's the time to really heal and move forwards.

Love you all, hope all are well.

Glad you posted Obo. Are you maintaining sobriety or struggling? 20 acres is a lot so maybe break it down to an area a month that you will be working on...the rest isn't going anywhere. Be kind to yourself friend. Always welcome to share what's going on with you here
