Oh no, Obo, this is reminding me our heating boiler saga! Hope it's an easy and cheap job for you to get it back running again.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.

I'm off to visit my Mum in the temporary care home. Hoping to take her out in a wheelchair to see the sea.

Obo- Happy Birthday! I think you nailed it regarding the lawn mower. That's life. If I can accept the things out of my control and carry on anyways, my life is easier. For example, yesterday I was driving to Sister's wedding reception and I was hungry and the thought hit me "****, we have to clean after this stupid party... Shut up Nolan, this isn't about you. Be happy you get to celebrate this day". Turns out the catering company did all the work anyways! Rather than suffer and get caught up in my own BS, I took a positive outlook and then was even happier to discover the scenario was better than I thought.

Freein- I hope the visit goes well and she gets to see the sea.

Life is good over here. Yesterday was awesome. I danced so much I can barley walk today, well almost. It's crazy that even though I didn't drink, a late night still has some of the symptoms that followed a hang out. Maybe I'm just getting old?

Anyways, specifically the alcohol heavy wedding had very little impact on me. I feel comfortable in my own skin, so the fact others are drinking doesn't really affect me. Something I heard in rehab was using the phrase "I GET TO" be present for my sister's wedding. "I GET TO" dance like a fool. Gratitude is a powerful motivator for me. Anyways, in for the bargain.

So happy to hear that you had a wonderful time at the wedding, Noolan. You really do sound so free in your sobriety - it's an inspiration for us all. Great stuff, love it!

It won't be long before you are just as confident in your own sobriety Obo. You're on track for a healthy and happy future.

Happy Halloween

Where did Halloween start? It's an odd kind of celebration isn't it?

Spooky.

I'm not sure FreeIn - I know people claim pagan origins but Halloween as we know it seems pretty modern?

ETA lol thanks Top - but I'm still blaming Hersheys and Reeses etc

Great night at a friends house for Halloween, sober and happy.

Melbourne Cup day, horses racing, tipped a runner, no. 4, it's still running!

That's an interesting website, Tops. Who'd of thought that it all started around here. We've got a lot to answer for, that's for sure.

I met with my work coach again yesterday, she's helped me to look at my current job in a fresh new way. Today was certainly better, so I'll give it a good go over the next few weeks.

Hope everyone's week is going well

Keep us apprised on your new outlook Freein !
My job is only temporary at this point, ......I think of the income transcending any intrinsic value for the time being,

....as I really need. a wood burning stove before it gets chilly in December !

That was a joy to watch! And dear Morecambe and Wise, what a classic duo they were. Ah... those were the days.

Hope you manage to get a woodburner soon Tops. You can't beat them, I'm sitting in front of ours right now. With all your trees I would imagine it would pay its way in no time.

Is it a bit frenzied over in the US at the moment with the election coming up? There's definitely some interesting times ahead, whomever wins.
