Drake, I'm sorry you slipped, I know what your sobriety means to you so I know you will get right back on the horse and begin racking up those days again. We have your back sweetie, and check in here if you need your friends to add their strength to your own.

Itchy, not moving - well, that's not the plan just now!- so much as looking for a second home, somewhere with a bit of sun and warmth guarranteed as apposed to the apathetic summers we get each year here.

FBL, you have every reason to be proud of your dad for his achievements.

Happy Hump day all.

Hugs everyone xx

Checking in, Overs-

FBL, your dad looks to be a sweetheart of a guy. I'm glad you had a recovery role -model in him.

Drake, I'm really glad you're back. Really glad. Hope you'll stick close to us

Good morning, all!

We had a lovely anniversary party at the OFH last night and I was happy to see several others also raise a glass of water at toast time :-).

FBL I was just going to try to upload a picture of the concert for you guys, but I'm enjoying my 20 minutes of morning solitude at the moment and didn't want to ruin it with frustration!!!! I'll try to get to it today. (Yeah right.) The concert was great, they still totally rock and what amazing musicians, really, Slash especially, he blew everyone away. They played "Wish You Were Here", he and the Izzy-replacement guitar duoed it, no vocals, it was great. Opened with It's So Easy, played all the big hits, the best for me was Estranged, Don't Cry, November Rain. Axl was good, pipes were on but there were a few moments when we could have sworn he was lip syncing but I guess not. It was fun, and let me tell you, not drinking is just so much better. My best buddy who I went with, has been sober for about four years, we used to party together, now we're sober together haha, it's pretty great. And it's just so good to just enjoy the music. The people we went with were all getting wasted, the one couple left almost half way through because the woman was so drunk, and you know they were all painfully hungover the next morning. We were up early, getting coffee at Stumptown (best) and had time to cruise around Pike Place Market before heading back. Oh yeah, and parking our own car and driving home from a rock concert? Yeah.
Anyway my down time is over I gotta go! This new job, oy. Started monday. They work from 8am to 8-9pm. It's keeping me on my toes, that's for sure. It's constant all day, nonstop. Literally nonstop, like no lunch break practically. But, the people are cool and I have an assistant which is amazing!
I gotta go, have a good one Overs.

Good evening Overs,
Great to see some of my friends on this page.

Mentally I'm a bit fragile and going into winter (yes you have to look way ahead) that's not a good place to be.
Still, I have 1206 dry days and going strong.

It's good to be back
Andy.

For those who work in years, months and days that's 3 years, 3 months, and 17 days.

Hi FarTo Go,
I'm not actually sure, or don't want to face it

Goodnight everyone sleep well.

FG,
Nice to see you too!

Thanks Dee,
I am a survivor, but then most of us here are.

Thanks Suze!
Yours was nice too! Maybe in person one day here.

Glee,
Thanks! What goes around comes around. I try to keep my karmic balance always in my favor. Besides if we can, we must - moral imperative. I tried to talk our company owner out of it due to reports of shootings. He is a fist fighting country boy and woefully untrained in disaster preparedness. So when I could not talk him out of it I made up our supplies and defense lists as well as bringing the chain saws and crowbars to breach walls and doors which we needed several times. So I was not the originator just was taking care of the enthusiastic but untrained young folks.

Hi EN!

Thanks Mags.

Thanks Wolf,
Also Hi bye hi bye good morning and good night Wolf!

FBL,
I missed the pic of dad and read all that with the creature from the black lagoon as your avatar. I assume that was not a pic of your dad. Glad you remember his B day and sober anniversaries as well. I remember my mom's and my younger brother's both in June.

Drake. welcome back to the sober side.

Carlos I hope your trifecta is realized, good to see you too!

Andy! Long time no see. Andy are you feeling deprived or threatened by alcohol? You hang in there and here. We gotcha.

Toots,
Ahh a vacay home. Kewl!

Sassy,
Why Thank you! So were the other 4 guys that went down with us, only two of us armed, one in each boat.

RZ,
Sergeant at arms not Captain. I was not an officer, my parents were married making me ineligible.

Thanks Star,
I love watching the better handling of this flood. We are not needed because they are allowing all to bring boats and help. They road blocked all of us from going and had we not had our own guns for protection and my military retired ID and enough supplies they would have turned us away. There were only our two boats and one pother doing the whole of Airline Hwy and from the Causeway to the un-flooded downtown N'awlins, ands from Tulane Avenue to Canal Street and all the streets in between. The police and others did not start coming in until our third day there.
This one they are allowing all to go down, no deaths from just stranding which there were after Katrina.

Ironman Wolf -

IP,
Great concert story! you deserved that fun and a break.

Hi Dharma!

Sassy,
Party was fun for you and that is nice to hear.

Hi Far!

OK guys I am running and between appointments and improvements and stupidvising contractors - been busy. Had our 4K large TV wall mounted and all wires in the wall with new outlets hidden, put the floating AV cabinet under it with the soundbar and Sub. Getting a new Office chair for my desk as this one is five years old and shows it. I got one but need to return it as it is canted back too far and causes pain after an hour. Put up a driveway motion sensor and remote alarm that tells us when someone is coming down the drive. I need to build it a weather and wind enclosure to eliminate the last of the false alarms. Thank goodness for user reviews and other DIY folks who post pics too.

Have a great remainder of the week and weekend folks! Don't do anything I wouldn't do, and remember I have kids!
