New here, I posted in the wrong thread (DEC 2014) apologies to the Mods.
In brief:
Seasons greetings.
So this is what day eight looks like after thirty years.
Greatful my kids are on board with what I'm trying to do....the best thing I've found is a deeper appreciation of them.
Vitamin replacements are Helping, changing my thought patterns (a work in progress) and distraction.
Still battling hour by hour to be fair. All the best, well done to us all for getting to this starting point.

Whoppee I woke up this morning on New Years Day and day 5 for me!!
The last time I was hangover free on this day was 2007 and that was because I had my youngest baby in my arms.
I am determined to make 2016 sober no matter what. I wobbled all through 2015 and it was so hard to keep getting back on it. Together we can do it.
Happy Sober New Year all

I'm only on day 2 so really my sobriety started on the last day of December but technically that's still December so I'll stick with you.guys! I stayed in with my mum and my also sober brother. We talked and laughed a lot and I went to bed sober and happy even though earlier in the day I had been struggling with some bad anxiety and had wanted to drink. Then woke up drenched in sweat and also experienced some pretty horrible nightmares. Feel fine this morning though!
Well December class I was doing well and made it 20 days until I thought that I was okay to have just that one drink... Nope.. Made me realize I can't just do one .. So I'm back sober and have been 7 days sober. Have a better plan in mind this time to not give
In. 2015 was a pretty rough year but I'm ready to have a sober 2016.

Good morning all!
Thank you so much for helping me make it though last night. It is very true, I do not regret staying sober one little bit. I am so glad I get to start this year off almost alarmingly happy.
Off to make some coffee and tackle a new knitting pattern for a bit before the kids wake.
I pray AV gives me a bit of a rest today.

Good morning, Happy 2016, and glad to see so many of us woke up to the new year hangover free
Welcome Obladi, Romando, and solow!
Had a good night, stuck to my guns, but boy am I a creature of habit...going to bed over 3 hours past my usual bedtime really knocks me for a loop, even when I'm sober!
Taking down Christmas decorations today and cleaning. Ready for a clean slate and to finally stick with some of my goals and commitments. I watched others drinking last night, saw how there behavior changed and eyes glazed over and didn't envy it one bit. I sent them home with all the extra booze, they can have it and all that goes with it!

Happy New Year class mates! Well done all of us who made it through New Year's Eve without drinking! And to anyone who didn't make it, today is a new day to a new year and a perfect time for a new beginning.
I have always loved the new year celebration and find it a very cleansing time of year spiritually for me. January 1st is always a day of reflection for me, and even though I try to live one day at a time I think it is okay to look ahead with a vision of how you want your life to unfold in the new year.
Have a great day everyone. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all better as time passes in our sobriety!
