Class of March 2013 Part 44
Dee, I've read it before - that is such a great link it's worth re-reading multiple times.
I did many small things, too - including keeping a gratitude list that I added to every single day. I found so many things to be grateful for that it surprised me. For quite a number of months I dedicated a substantial amount of time to activities to help me stay sober. I still spend some time on that because I don't ever want to go back there again. If I find thoughts or impulses even slightly creeping in, I make sure I stay aware and practice self-care.
Babs, I know you have the desire to succeed.
Ken sending healing thoughts. I'm glad your brother has come through the the operation successfully, fingers crossed for the results X
How's the job going?

Budd, that's fantastic news!! Continued prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
Hi Babs, glad to see your here and still trying!! Such good advice you've been given.
Things are fine with me. I've been asked to be president of our school's foundation and it's been more work than I could have imagined. It's new so lots of groundwork to do. We had our very first event Thursday night and it was a hit! Many, not all, of the parents were drinking but none of the school staff so it would've been awkward if, as president, I had been. So glad not to have those worries anymore.
I was in a car accident on 10/20 -- it was just a fender bender but I got very severe whiplash. It's been so frustrating because I can't exercise or play tennis. Exercise has become my go to coping mechanism in so many ways so I've had to readjust in a lot of ways. It's not forever. I started PT last Monday so I'm hoping to be back to normal soon.
Toots, congratulations on your THIRD book!!!!!! So proud of you!
Marcher, how is Marcher Dog doing??? I cannot stand it when the fur babies are ill or hurt. Hugs being sent to Marcher Dog (and his mommy).

Duff,hope you're feeling better.
What a busy weekend, had Friday off of work because of inventory, so I got my Tennessee drivers license, opened a local checking account, looked for a new buddmobile and did laundry.
Saturday Tracy and I picked up her new countertops, chopped firewood and started demolition of her old countertops
Today, we finished demo, installed new countertops, sink and faucet, then started prepping walls in family room for new paint
These three days flew by.
Talked with brother last night for a few minutes, he's out of ICU and feeling good.

Good morning everyone from a sunny blue Paradise. Last week's rain has skedaddled so the garden is looking great -- if jungly and weedy.
Ken I'm delighted to hear that your brother came out of the op so well, it's surely a great sign that he was laughing and talking, let's hope the prognosis is as good as possible. BTW, how is Tracy going with the lovely Max? Have her allergies settled down?
Duff you sound really good! So glad to hear you are busy and enjoying it.
Babs how are you going?
We had a busy but fun weekend, the highlight being attending a local theatre production at the art place I volunteer at. I must admit I've always been a bit of a snob about local theatre thinking it would be amateurish. That wasn't the case with this one! Two of the best hours of theatre I've ever seen and no hassles of driving to and parking in Sydney. I'm a convert!
And now there are only X weeks until ...
Have a good day all.
