Good morning Marchers from a grey old Paradise, it's meant to be raining but I don' think there is any water up there. This morning I made six jars of marmalade before work! How cool is that, there is no way I could have done that two years ago.

I'm making all my Christmas presents this year, I hate Christmas shopping so I thought why not make everything, so I am. I'm making everyone a basket of good things -- I have an awesome spice rub for the BBQ for the guys and also a smoky bbq sauce.

Anyway I sliced the oranges last night, soaked them in rainwater, then put the pot on this morning at 7, now I have eight jars of glowing marmalade.

Toots de Sweet you don't look a day over 35 but congrats on the 1000!

Duff how are you going? Has the vulnerable to drinking feeling worn off or is it still there? Could it be the holiday season?

Babs I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday away, how's recovery going?

We just eleven days until you go home? Awesome.

Trachy I'm glad your hat is helping to save on heat.

Ken how goes everything in Tennessee? Gosh that's a hard word to spell.

Sass how is Sass kitty going? Are you still using the Feliway with her? It calms 18 year old Marcher cat brilliantly.

Dee I hope you and the red racer have stabilised your relationship.

Have a good Wethursday peeps.

Hi Marcher :-)

Sassy kitty is still not quite "normal" but is doing better. She is back to doing at least some munching on dry food though I'm still giving her an extra serving of canned stuff. I don't think she is 100% but she gets so stressed about going to the vet that at her age I'm reluctant to put her through that. I am still using Feliway and that does help.

It sounds like your life has settled down a bit nearing the end of a tough year for you and Mr Marcher. I hope next year will be much more peaceful!

Marcher, don't know why it struck me to ask Is that a quilt in your avatar? What's the history of it?

Trachy that's the very first "recovery" blanket I knitted. In my drinking days I knitted but not like I do now. When I gave up both the bottle and the ciggies I knew I had to do something with my hands so I decided to knit a blanket for the Fistula Hospital. My avatar shows the first one, I hadn't finished the last square when I took the picture and I thought that kind of apt...like the blanket recovery is a work in progress.

I've done nine now and was hoping to finish #10 before the end of the year but I won't make that deadline. I keep making hats and scarves and jumpers in between!

A little walking tour around the folks house. My sister and I built most of the decorations. Mom helped install. Dad napped.

People are stopping and asking where to buy the light forest trees. You can't. We made them. From scratch.

Very festive Trachy, and if people want to buy the 'light forest' maybe you have a new business in your hands!! we have failed dreadfully in past years at trying to do the outside of our house . It usually ends up looking pathetic and the lights fail after the first few days but end up hanging there for months!

Sass I'm glad sassy kitty is doing better.

Marcher marmalade?? Call me Paddington and post me a pot!! ( just kidding, I do love marmalade but have pretty much given up eating bread these days) how many sleeps to your hols??

We, home for the holidays? How lovely to catch up with everyone.

Babs, how are you doing?

Bim, good to see you sweetie!

Duff how are your Christmas preps coming along with your young 'uns?

Budd are you seeing stars or do you have a roof now??

North and all other Marchers xx
