Class Of March 2014 Part 9
Woke up six hours ago with a splitting headache, I think it is a sugar hangover - again. I've taken all the usual remedies; ibuprofen and sinus stuff, to no avail. I still have a headache and I had to cancel meeting a friend at a meeting which I feel terrible about because I've been going to this meeting and she hasn't. Oh, well. We are adults, right?
Even coffee isn't helping my headache, and I want to go back to bed - it's noon. Half the day is shot, and I need to go to the grocery. It's raining. Did I mention it's raining? Wah. It's contagious, this mood we're having together.
I'm not going to drink over it. But I do feel hungover. Day 43. yay.

Glad you called the doctor toddle. Enfin, beetroot cake? Would you share the recipe? Sounds interesting I'm baking some hake with mushrooms and soy ginger sauce. Boiled some artichokes. Going to have a feast! Since I quit drinking I have: 1)Slept regularly and like a baby 2)Felt more even keeled 3)Had my wits about me to confront difficulties and challenges 4)Cleaned and tidied my house regularly 5)Read almost an entire book 6)Been aware of what foods I'm eating (even if they're not the best choices!!) 7)Not gone to work hung over 8)Acted on plans and promises 9)Completed projects I wa too scared to complete

Forr those who''ve slipped recently
One great life lesson I've learned is that no one wins every game. And we can win championships even after loosing some games. Either way, we've won in my book, because we stepped out of the illusion of safety and security and are fully active in the game of life.

Good afternoon, Marchers!
It sounds like lots of folks are having a rough time. I'm going to blame it on the weather. I pulled myself out of bed late. I'm going to chalk it up as a down day and just be extra nice to myself and retreat gracefully. Tomorrow is another day, after all.
I'll check in with you folks later.

Sorry for all those struggling.
I think it is a shock at first when the cravings or thoughts or just plain uncomfortable feelings come bullying us. It is like being kicked when we are already down and vulnerable.
BUT what I wanted to offer in reassurance is that every time you go through it and do not drink, it makes you stronger, and not just for that moment but in a permanent kind of way.
The determination, perseverance, commitment, self respect, and strength that continuous sobriety teaches you DOESN'T leave. It is sobriety's gift to you and you get to keep it for the rest of your sober days.
Promise. Stick with it and see for yourself.

I finally got rid of my headache, just in time for bed.
Did the grocery shopping and only forgot one thing.
Now I'm going to go sit on my bed and watch the last couple episodes of Scandal on Netflix. I hope this series continues on Netflix, it's a good one - full of twists and turns and unexpected things.
Peace out, everyone.
