Good morning everyone! Day 26 for me!

It still amazes me that when I first wake up in the morning and pull myself out of bed the first thing I do is a drunk mental checklist:
"How's my head? Is my stomach upset? How much did I drink last night? Is my husband mad?"
And then as I stand up and feel great physically, I am reminded that - No- I didn't drink- I AM SOBER!
Lol. Just that I would share- anyone else do this?

Ilya - big hugs. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. I hope you are sleeping and will come back soon to try again.

Thank you Dee- I am so grateful to be sober. So grateful. I am incredibly grateful to this site. And to biminiblue who came back from her first AA meeting and talked about it with such excitement that it have me the courage to go too.
AA is saving my life right now.

Ah well. I feel terrible today. Of course. Not sure what happened. Of course, I know what happened. I just said "yes." I wasn't feeling particularly bad. Just wanted one.

Fortunately for me, I hadn't really wanted one in over a month.

But now, my head is ringing and I have an absolutely terrible hangover. Ouch!!

I feel sick, I'm in pain. I'm not the kind of person who can have one or two drinks. So you better believe it -- I'm hurting.

Here we go off to work!

I will be coming straight home. I will not pass Go. Will not collect $200.

I will probably have to eat my weight in mac and cheese to get to sleep tonight

Guess what I am doing today. Chilling out at the lake enjoying sobriety. Last year I didn't get out on the boat hardly at all cause I was too busy drinking this year I'm going to be too busy living to be a drinker.

I have seen some comments where people say well I am having a tough time but it doesn't look like everybody else is. Trust me everyone has their own difficulties with sobriety they just choose not to talk about it. If sobriety was easy there wouldn't be alcoholics just keep swimming.

Love everything about this post.

"too busy living to be drinking". Yes.

"Trust me everyone has their own difficulties with sobriety they just choose not to talk about it. If sobriety was easy there wouldn't be alcoholics just keep swimming." So so SO true.
