Toddle sometimes when we fix things we have to make sure we have the right tools and are prepared to do whatever it takes to fix it. It will get better what you gonna have to work at leave the pills and drink alone we're here to help you as much as we can but you have to find some new tools for your sober toolbox

Hey toddle... Don't leave us, and we won't shut up I promise, unless u tell us to!!! Just keep talking, chatting, asking questions, getting answers and use us!!! What do u think will help you just one tiny weeny bit... Chocolate??? A song??? Screaming?? Walking?? Posting the longest post ever on here...

Just do it, but you know booze won't help, it will make everything screwy and more pants!!! Xx

Feeling pants myself too Toddle.
For me, it's far too easy to sit and dwell on things.
I have no job, no money, threatening letters and arrears from everywhere, father recently diagnosed with the big C etc. etc. So a pretty pants time.
I've been on lexapro for a few years, but add alcohol to the mix and I may as well been on smarties!

I do understand depression.

I simply HAVE to stay sober to have any chance.

So today I'm tilling my veg patch with a tiny fork and it's going to take me all day.
The problems will still be there at the end of it, but I won't drink.
Tomorrow, hopefully, I may feel better and attend to some of the issues I can change in my life. I just KNOW I won't if I drink.

For now, today, just try and do something, anything.
Cup of tea, walk, wash your hair, tend to the pussycats.

You will feel better. Can't promise when, but you will.

Peace and hugs.

Toddle, I have no words to ease the pain you are feeling.
But I do know that drinking and pills make the pain much worse. I know you know that too.
Just for today - put the drink down and the pills down. Just for today. Worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes - but just for today be sober.
You deserve this.

Since I quit drinking I have:

- Answered the phone when my brother called me instead of sending it to voicemail
- Thanked my mother for a box of toys she sent my son instead of ignoring her
- Resolved a major issue at work without screaming and anger
- Tackled some outstanding bills instead of shoving them in a corner hoping they would go away
- Planned a Good Friday full of Easter activities for my son and family - none of which include drinking

So grateful to be sober. I hope that anyone still suffering can see these lists and know that this gift of sobriety is here for anyone willing to grasp it. It does get better.

LMAO - I was cleaning my bathroom cabinet out and found a mini bottle of mouthwash. I read the ingredients and saw there was alcohol in it and thought "hmmm... so if I drink this would I get a buzz?"
I didn't try it.

Yea, I have a bad sore throat and congestion and by 2am was standing in front of the medicine cabinet eyeballing the Nyquil. Can't say I was really nervous but I did give it a good second thought, hmmmm this is like 25% alcohol.... Plus the medecine part,...careful will Rogers. Tines past I would have been very much looking forward to the high coming from medecine. It was all good thou, end up getting a couple hours of shut eye and no boogeyman under the bed came out and shoved a bottle of vodka in my mouth.

I hear that. Taking an actual interest in life outside the radius of our drinking arm is pretty coo.
