BritBox, so glad you are here too and I've had the chance to meet you. You are terriffic.
interesting, Vik, that your family is from the South Part of Sweden. I have some of the town names. If you don't mind, I may PM them to you and you'll probably know them. Grateful you joined the grat pack too, along with Brit Box! You all are terriffic. My spell check isn't working, I have to fix it. I'm great with numbers, but a terrible speller, so forgive any misspelled words, please. 💗
Have a wonderful Sunday. CBS and Tursi, sending love. Love and peace to all. 💗☮💟💞

Grateful that my pain pill is finally working and in my right foot doesn't hurt so bad anymore. Grateful that my brother went to the store and got me a couple things. Grateful for my beloved brother.

Lol Aly, hopefully I'm Britbox 🤣 and not taking the compliments for somebody else.

CBS i hope you find some support out there after such a close double loss. Its so important to get those feelings out and the emotions change so ofter that it really is a complex rollercoaster isn't it (I never understood it when people talked about waves in grief, but when it happens it becomes very clear what people mean) 500 days is amazing well done 👏 take care of your self.

Hev I miss my mums roast dinners too but she taught me quite well so try to do hers justice. I have definitely noticed a shift these last couple of weeks and feeling generally so much better and positive. Your lucky hubby enjoys mowing the lawn, mine doesn't so I've made that my job although I'm finding a bit of gardening very therapeutic.

Least glad your foot feeling better.

Grateful for today.....

Funny feel good films and cuddling up to my daughter and laughing so much whilst watching one.

Wanting to go for a long walk later.

Lay ins.. pretty rare but seem to actually sleep more when have the opportunity these days.

Not disliking what i see in the mirror so much these days.

Have a great day all. X

Oh yes, Britbird, congrats on 4 months! Don’t think I said that.

Grateful for the time I’ve had here, and grateful to return home today.
Grateful to be the first one up 3 days in a row.
Grateful for a few moments to post before springing into action to pack and get ready.
Grateful for one of the friends leading us through facials last night.
Grateful for the beauty of this area. My whole family wants to come back after seeing the video tour.
Grateful for the GP. Big part of my HP

Britbox, Congrats on the 4 months. I am right behind you on that
Big hug to all of those going through losses, my heart and thoughts go out to you. It is so tough and makes me sad that you guys are going through this
Grateful to have seen/visited my FIL yesterday in the nursing home with my husband, my MIL and his uncle
Grateful my barbacoa in the crockpot turned out great and my MIL really liked it. My Mom was a horrible cook growing up and does not cook anymore. I taught myself and for the most part enjoy it. I sometimes just don't like trying to figure out what to cook each night
Grateful I am still at peace after dealing with my sister..although we are going to meet up tonight to discuss more plans regarding my Mom. My sister blames my husband and myself that she has not been able to go to work because we moved away to CO for the past 26 years so she had to do everything. Uhmm..It was your choice to have kids and stay home to raise them, then you said you "could not work" because you wanted to help your kids while they were away at college, etc.... She yelled at me several times. Sigh...
Grateful for Mr. Alpine, my Mil and Riley

Alpine, that conversation with your sister sounds really tough. It caused me to google "martyrdom" which took me down a bit of a rabbit hole. I'm sorry she's a yeller.
Hev, your brother sounds so wonderful.
NL, I'm so glad you've had a pretty relaxing trip. Let me know if you come back!
Britbird, cuddling with your daughter is so wonderful.
Fearless, that sounds like a high-drama gathering, and I can't imagine how much worse it would be if people were drinking.

Grateful for coffee.
Grateful for a beautiful view out my window, lots of lush green and fog.
Grateful that although it's Monday, it's a telework day.
Grateful for a connection with the mom of one of my older son's old friends. Her son is planning to attend the same college as mine and they might be roommates in the fall.
Grateful to have a meeting set up with my parents for an assisted-living facility. Grateful they are going to their house first to see what their needs are, and determine whether they have anything available.
Grateful to be sober.

Britbird, congrats on 4 months! Not sure I already said that 😊
Alpine, and Aly too, I’m sorry about the conflict with your sister. when I hear about family squabbles over aging parents, it makes me grateful I became an only child 30 years ago and dealt with my mom and dads stuff alone. I know everyone’s experience is different. It’s great when siblings agree on decisions but I hear more stories about disagreements over the best care, finances, etc. I’m sorry about everyone going through this
Grateful how we lean on each other for support
As FBL says, grateful for a new week of sober adventures
Least, so glad the pain pill is working, and for your brothers help
Grateful to sign up for a four week mindful meditation class at the yoga studio down the street. I can’t wait for Wed nights!
Grateful Mr F is making the lasagna today. I didn’t get to it yesterday
Grateful for a team meeting to kick off a group project
Grateful it’s going to be a sunshiny day and going to put the patio cushions back out

Alpine - I'm sorry for the drama with your unreasonable sister.
Britbird - It's wonderful how positive you are. Very glad you're with us.
Free - Thanks for the Hummingbird feeder reminder. A bit early here I think.
Grateful for all the posts & what you share.
Grateful to have a dr. appointment tomorrow - I guess. Got on the scale to avoid shock tomorrow. Gained 5 lbs. on top of the 20 I already needed to lose. No surprise.
Grateful for good health care.
Grateful to have a nice chat with my neighbors yesterday. I tend to keep to myself too much.
Grateful for the GP always!

CB, good luck with your consult. I had to go to one several years back. She was awesome, I hate hate hate going to the dentist and she was so gentle and caring.
Grateful for another sober day
Grateful it is sunny
Grateful that when I drive over to see my Mom I see several old barns
Grateful to see all of the birds out and about
Grateful to have the funds/ability to buy groceries
Grateful for all of you

I am grateful today for 7 days sober and feeling slowly better.
I’m making a healthy grocery run today and have an appointment with an addiction specialist. I know of him and was not impressed but will see what’s offered.
I am grateful to be taking my daughter her yogurt treats.
The flowers and yard work are calling in a couple days after rain, snow and wind. I will accomplish a little at a time.
Grateful to be here and alive.

Least, glad the pain pill is working. Sure hope that continues and your measure of relief grows.
PS, I will let you know if I am headed back. The house we stayed in was so incredible my whole family wants to go back . I was going to share a link with you but I am not having luck finding it for some reason. I’ll keep trying.
Hev, sorry about that mean old scale.
Alpine, sorry about the conversation with your sister. Sounds like she has a pretty warped view of her role (or lack thereof) in her situation.

Grateful to be back home in my own bed.
Grateful I made a very tight connection thanks to having the physical ability to move relatively quickly. Feel bad for elderly or those with mobility impairments.
Grateful we finally got off the freaking plane in my home town. It was taking forever, and although I vowed to myself to never be the person who did anything but give thanks that I wasn’t the one traveling with small children, I was really overwhelmed by how loud some of it all was. And one poor kid with a terrible cough. Nearby and too young to cover his mouth pretty much. It was stressful. And I’m sure so much more so for the parents handling it all. But still. I was REALLY glad to just get out of the plane after we sat on the tarmac for like 30 minutes or more.
Grateful things at the house are in good order and the kids seemed in good spirits. Grateful to my husband for that.
Grateful for my reliable friend, coffee.
Grateful for all of you.

Welcome, Imvalentine!
NL, I'd love to see a link if you find one - and I'm happy that your house wasn't in chaos when you got back.
CBS, I'm glad you kept your appointment (which means you didn't get sick - yay!)
Fearless, thanks for saying that many/most siblings seem to have some resentment and/or disagreement related to elder care. My brother and I mostly seem toagree (knock on wood), but we do have our moments.
Hev, can totally relate on the weight gain and hiding from people/neighbors, lol. Sometimes those two things are even related in my mind.
Free, congrats on the great golf game.

Grateful for coffee.
Grateful that I was with my mom during a tough conversation yesterday. We had someone from a senior facility come and basically screen my parents for independent living (because the place doesn't have current availability in assisted living or memory care, which is what my mom will likely need). She said they qualified for independent living, but after she left my mom completely broke down saying "oh my God, no assisted living!" and sobbing. It was really difficult because I wanted to reassure her that she's not going into assisted living, which is technically true, but felt false because that is our ultimate plan. I have compassion for my dad too, because I know he's doing much more for her than he lets on.
Grateful cost is not a deciding factor in where my parents will live next. Grateful to have so many truly beautiful options to choose from. Grateful my brother, parents and I all live close by.
Grateful for an office day today, hopefully it will pull me out of the funk I've been in for the past few days.
Grateful for beautiful views, birds chirping, and a quiet morning.
Grateful I don't have any presentations or stressful meetings today.
Grateful my schedule is mostly pretty flexible.
Grateful to be sober.

Thanks all for the congrats 😀 well done to you all too on your milestones past and present.

Just a quick check in today as busy bee but today I'm grateful for....

Lindor balls - I literally cannot stop eating them once I start lol

Some peace and quiet and a chance to get ahead of myself for the week.

Not really noticing cravings that much now and the ability to off them quickly if they do crop up.

have a great day everyone and thanks again for the support here, its amazing.
x

Brit, all treats are great! No guilt!
Alpine and Aly, yes, weird, but sometimes I’m glad I’m in the orphan club. No more sibling fighting. It was ugly. Actually, I let my two closest siblings go. Rough childhood, long story not for here.
Turs, good suggestion for CBS, grief groups are GREAT! In fact all groups offer people something when someone else can understand, and truly KNOW what you are going through. Like here❤️❤️
CBS, hugs!
James, we see you here! This is a great group, and to read what we are all grateful for. Then, someday, it’ll click, and you’ll post too! Welcome!
Hi I’mValentine! Good to see you!
Fearless, great about the meditation course
PS, big hugs on your parents! When my siblings and I had our mom transferred to a nursing home, she said she’d hate us. She didn’t speak to us for six months. Oh well, she was safe. And guess what? SHE LOVED IT THERE, and all was good again. 🤓❤️🥰
NL, I’ve always been wigged out on people coughing and sneezing on planes, way before COVID. I always wore a mask back then, and still do now. I don’t want their cold 🤕🤒😷
Hev, let’s take a walk together today! You’ll feel better! (After more yogurt, nonfat plain for breakfast 🤢🤮

Lots of love to all, sorry if I left anyone out.
