Morning Gratitude ~ Part 88
Grateful that I still have my parents, who are 89 and 95; and that yesterday they chose assisted living to have the full-time support they need.
Grateful for retirement and the greater time with my husband.
Grateful for the spring and the flowers coming up in our garden.

Grateful for Purps cheerful post. So cute!
Grateful to wake sober and hangover free on this lovely Saturday. I remember Saturday mornings that were not so pleasant.
Grateful to let go of some resentment I'd been holding on to.
Grateful to see all of you here! ♥♥♥

Grateful to be sitting outside on a beautiful morning drinking coffee listening to the birds call to each other and apparently have some kind of heated argument.
Grateful for parent friends, who teach us and inspire us and help us. Some of the parents from the school organized a huge camp out last night. Because I am crazy I drove out there in my tired state with my daughter. I was just struck by the relief I felt sharing thoughts with some of the other moms, learning more about composting and astronomy from different parents, having one of the moms keep my daughter overnight and another drive her home today. At bedtime a bunch of moms all ended up down in the bathrooms/showers with a bunch of kids. Everyone taking turns and helping all the kids get ready. Then some of our girls broke out in (loud) song in the ehco-y building. It was chaotic and sweet and of course loud.
Grateful another parent (not from our school) started an entire organization to help families get out into nature, and that group organized kayaking for everyone.
Grateful for state parks.
Grateful for camp fires.
Grateful for the antique picnic basket my grandmother gave me. We used it all growing up when we’d camp with them. I still have the old tupperware salt & pepper shakers and an ancient Pringle’s can full of silverware too. It’s one of the only earthly possessions i have from them (they are still alive but got rid of most of their belongings when they moved into retirement/nursing home). All the love and the good times and the sweet preparations it represents, all the time that has passed since they were young and taking us camping, it kind of chokes me up.
Grateful that my super power of driving sober allowed me to stay at the park until all the kids had gone to bed and then still make the approx 1.5 hour drive back.
Grateful to see Palmer along with all of you.
Grateful to be on this planet.

Grateful to put all my thoughts down about what I’m grateful for, even though I then realized I was no longer logged in, so I lost that post . Oh well, not going to repost it but I’m grateful for the time here and for sharing this sober journey with each of you
Grateful for this thread & to read a bit about your days.
Grateful that I'm not numb on a Sunday morning. (Remember 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' by Kristofferson?)
Numblady - I love your observations about getting outdoors. The area I live in, once a huge camping destinaton along with the Adirondacks, isn't as popular as it once was. Apparently it can't compete with Disney World & other more exciting spots. I do feel the kids are missing out. Picnic basket reflections - very touching.
Grateful to be coherent & productive.

Grateful I can drive, like Numblady, with a clear conscience knowing I’m sober.
Grateful for a lovely sunny morning
Grateful for my morning coffee
Grateful for being sober
Grateful for everybody here on the same journey

FBL great about the bubble!
LPG know it’s hard to break the cycle but proud of you for doing it.
Fearless, grateful for your positive attitude even about losing the post!
Hev, that’s sad about the area you live in. Not sure what is up with the Texans but our state parks are all booked way in advance and crowded/nearly sold out a lot of the time.
Mags, glad you are embracing your superpower too!
Grateful to be here. Grateful for all of you.
