Ok well I got my papers in my hands... This time, this week, my liver fares better. Can I keep it that way?

Was it the turmeric soup? The piles of Brussels sprouts? The avoidance of carbs, the stress induced food avoidance resulting in rather rapid weight loss?

Thank you so much sobeLeigh I was thinking possibly this was a scare to move me to action... I mean not that life is paying attention to my trifling existence, but I was eating healthy and getting some cardio almost every day. So now I am more motivated to do more... Quitting benzos and alcohol was so hard, it was all I could do but I see it's time to do more.

Omg don't jinx it soberlicious lol!

I swear I do believe in magical thinking because when I don't freak out about things, BAD stuff happens and if I do freak out its like all my mental powers change the outcome

lol well, I don't believe in anything magical at all...but are you saying that it's possible you actually had cirrhosis but that the condition completely reversed itself as a direct result of your worry and freaking out? I mean I believe in the power of the mind and all, but I can't co-sign on that one. If anything, severe stress makes it more difficult for the physical body to recover.

Glad you had a positive outcome.

Side note...I can't understand how anyone cannot love liver. It is amazingly delicious. Fried chicken livers are delectable little nuggets of yummy goodness that make me so happy. To each her own I suppose.

Frying it cancels out the benefits, doesn't it? Although - everything tastes good fried, so there's that.

I don't know, frying is pretty vilified, but liver is not going to pass my lips regardless.

I don't know...I don't vilify frying. I've been a paleo eater for several years now and I only fry in coconut oil. I'm not actually sure if it cancels out the benefits, but I never ate it for the benefits. I eat it cause it's delish. I've eaten it since I was a little girl. The fact that it's a superfood is just an aside. I love pate too and liverwurst, so frying is not a must in my world.

But yeah, it grosses lots of ppl out I guess, being an organ meat and all.

Some things you eat as a kid and you love it forever, I am this way about sauerkraut. I loved nothing more ad a kid I mean that stuff was like candy to me and I love it to this day though many people find it to be disgusting. It has to be sour and tart too, not weak, never from a can or I won't like it

Thank you because maybe someone else with a road like mine can see how things can go. Up then down then up, and I plan to do whatever I can in my power to keep healthy.
