Oh my yes, that is no A/C in the house or autos. Long trips down south with no air. Mom didn't have a dryer either. Finally after us kids were out of the house. And once out at 18 there was no coming back. Or after college. I was drinking and using pretty hard by the end of high school. And got into AA and NA at 19. (1980)

Never quit quitting. Never give up. Live sober for the day.

Again a beautiful cool morning.

Everyone have a good start to their week.

Up early before the birds were stirring.

We did not have a dryer either. I wish I had an outdoor clothes line but have a fold out contraption or hang things off the shower rail along with using the dryer. My parents moved long after I left and my mother would not use the dishwasher. She thought it would flood the kitchen and wouldn’t touch a microwave. Now I’m inept with the tv remote and cell phone.

Plenty of shoulds I should do today.

Happy Monday!

My mom had a dryer but would always hang the clothes up in the yard on nice days. They always seemed to smell better outside.

I found a couple of old bird feeders in my shed that I filled with food. Will be interesting to see what birds show up.

Another crisp, cool morning!

Enjoy the day all!

Early riser here before 5:00 AM

Busier day ahead. Errands, appointment, meeting. I will be very careful and masked up at the meeting. Lysol wipes in car also. Keeping up my guard despite other people’s carelessness.

Enjoy the birds stargazer. It is relaxing and calming to me. I never saw myself becoming a old lady bird whisperer but here I am.

I love the should saying wiscsober. That’s a good one! I’ll remember that every time I should myself.

A pleasant Tuesday to all.

Good morning all, had a good weekend and back to the regular schedule yesterday.
This is our "June gloom" time where we get a lot of cold and fog. usually lasts until August lol..
No one here owns very many pairs of shorts.
Enjoy the warm weather if you have it!
Happy Tuesday.

Glorious morning sober wise and weather wise. A good one to live clean. For us not that many different kinds of birds especially not many raptors.

I put up a hummingbird feeder and had a lot of birds last year. So far not seeing very many but I hope they come back. Really enjoyed watching them.
Happy hump day!

Had a sleep in this morning,
Enjoyed getting out to a meeting yesterday. There were only 3 of us but that’s ok. Safety protocols were in place. Masks not required though. I’m afraid we aren’t even through the first wave of Covid yet.
My lawn is green again and the yard maintenance people hopefully will be here before Friday’s forecast rain and cool temps. I was thinking how much time and resources are wasted on lawns. Decorative rock and succulents make more sense.
We have crows, magpies, sparrows, doves, grackles, robins, finch and jays. A big fat squirrel was on the patio table this morning looking for peanuts. My favorite little guy has a gimpy paw.

A great Wednesday to all.

No real new news here, but the usual work, horses ect. Had to take my dog in for toenail clipping and went to Walgreens. Still nervous about being in the mix even with a mask. The human isolation is getting to me but I also know people whose families are making them crazy, lol. At least I can go to the stable and ride my horse.
For this and many other things I am grateful.
Have a great day all.

We just had an incredible stretch of 70 degree weather with no humidity come to an end. A perfect way for spring to usher in summer.

Imvalentine, I always scratch my head when I see these golf courses in Arizona that are lush green, when across the way everything is brown and dry. I think of all the precious water that is wasted on them. I am making an effort to only plant native plants in my yard going forward. They will survive without special care, assuming I can keep the deer from them.

Best wishes all!

Yes splendid weather ... gorgeous pinks and oranges
like a surreal painting
Feel a bit anxious but I woke hungry eating a crisp cold apple
Thinking about little things that don't matter
some people irk me and I let them
Sober for the day

Wisc, letting go of anger is a difficult skill to learn. Over the years, I have realized that it isn't a positive emotion in recovery, so I try to let it go as quickly as I can. Not always easy of course!

On the night shift for a bit. Getting up later as a result.

Birds have found my feeder, as have the squirrels! I love watching nature out my kitchen window.

Best wishes for a good day all!

4:20 AM

I qualify for early riser today. Fibro was acting up for a couple days but much better now.
We had rain yesterday so I will be weeding before Gdaughter is up and on the move.
Nothing new to report here.
Enjoy the critters stargazer. I’ve read a lot of people have taken up bird feeding...in the pandemic.
They brighten my days for sure.

A good Saturday to all.

Birding is a perfect hobby for the pandemic!

Up at 5:30 am just because I couldn't sleep. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on my rocking chair on the front porch. I am old beyond my years sometimes.

Have a good day all!

up real early 0130 but doing well ... good night's sleep ... enjoying being a night owl playing games listening to music.

Big difference than a 24/7 bender.

Enjoying recovery.

Got a call from a son who calls very little ... great day to hear from him ... possible through making amends to him 8/9 AA step
