Slept in and woke to rain and a chilly 39 degree morning.
People are very resistant to the virus precautions. I read “The Great Influenza”. Not looking forward to the 2nd wave when it hits.

Take care and stay well all.

Slept well enough myself.
Made great progress on the unemployment claim yesterday. I got a few things done around the house. It’s easy to get complacent and sit worrying.
Today is my time out with friend so it’s going to be a good day.

Happy Wednesday to all.

Let's hope for the return to common sense soon..
We may never have a complete scientific explanation of where the virus came from or a predictable understanding of it's behavior but common sense never hurts and usually helps.
I say wear a mask in public fo a while.
Just my two cents...

My area is now on the list as a USA hotspot for virus.
Will double my efforts to social distance.
Double my efforts for sobriety.
Up at 0400. Slept well.

There are a lot of new hotspots in the country now, unfortunately. I was reading yesterday that if everyone simply continues to wear a mask in public, a second wave may be prevented. Will people listen?

Son graduates high school today in a drive in/by graduation ceremony. Poor kid was born three months before 9/11 and now has graduation marred by a pandemic. I thought I had it tough dealing with the aftereffects of Watergate and Vietnam. His generation will be one for the books.

Got an amazing eight hours of sleep last night. I will need it coming up.

Best wishes for a good day all!

Slept well but have been staying up later.
Back to square one on the unemployment. Now I’m locked out and need password reset. A lot of people have been waiting as long as I have. Practicing patience again.
Enjoy the graduation stargazer. I grew up in the Watergate, Vietnam, 68 riots era. I vaguely remember the JFK assassination. My grown kids cannot fathom that time.

A good Thursday to all.

Rain ended thirty minutes before graduation ceremonies. Read off twenty names at a time, cars dropped kids off near front of school, kids got pictures taken with diplomas, drove away. It was a slow process but worked well enough.

Back to work today.

Best wishes all!

Congratulations stargazer as a parent, and to the new graduate.

I graduated in 1979. We had close to 300 seniors. The end of the baby boomers graduating.

Times certainly change. We had a senior keg party that was chaperoned by two teachers. The legal age was 18 but still a beer party for seniors.

Imvalentine: my first sponsor often said, "Patience, a virtue we are not born with. A lifetime of practice with that one."

Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, lining up so beautiful early dark morning.

Enjoying the cool mornings.

Living in a community and not just by myself. Just a thought for me.

Up early 0330 but slept sound. Feel much more sober this morning than the past few days.

Missed a day, thought it was Thursday for a while.

Thank you all for working and parenting.

Congrats Stargazer! I have some coworkers who had graduating high school seniors this week and they had a lot of modifications too.
The spirit was there in spite of the changes.
Today is my official one year sobriety anniversary.
SR and all of you have been so important so thank you.
Happy Friday!

Thumbs up

Congratulations melski!!! That is awesome for you.

Dr appointment and grocery pickup. Forgot to order bird seed so I’m going in a real store also.
It feels like I’m planning on skipping school.

Happy Friday to all.

Congrats on one year melski! Now you have shown to yourself that you can make it through a year of holidays, birthdays and special occasions and not need to drink. Well done.

Times certainly do change Wisc. I remember my school having three smoking lounges for students to smoke between classes. My state had a 21 drinking age, but neighboring New Jersey was 18 at the time, so station wagons full of high school kids would drive through Philly to get to Jersey, get drunk, and drive back home. Talk about stupid. Neighboring Maryland was 19, Delaware was 20, so every birthday one could drink in another state. Not that it was difficult to drink in my home state. Most bars served you if you worked.

Up at 2:30 am for coffee, SR, exercise and work.

Best wishes all!

0430 Up and At 'Em
Chilly but bright beautiful
Good cup of Joe
Will try again for groceries ... I'm jonesing for Pick&Save's cold fried chicken.
The state has been awesome freeing up food stamp funds.
Not a massive bailout but more helpful than giving it to large corps. JMHO
Sounds like you all are doing well.
Need to, want to, read recovery literature.
I do like the NA Basic Text blue book.
Much gratitude for those in the recovery professions.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

Up and around early watching the yard critters enjoy the morning.
Thunderstorms this afternoon and hopefully rain. Scorching temps forecast for days ahead.

A safe sober Saturday to all.

Wisc, I am not familiar with NA literature, but I had a recovery friend who chose to go to NA meetings over AA meetings because he thought the literature was more current and applicable to today.

Up at 2:30 for work. Slept with windows open with temps in the 50's.

Best wishes for a good day all!

Good Morning 0445

Made coffee and shared a carafe with a friend.

Wonderful chilly sunshiny morning ... this end of spring has been brilliant.

So glad to choose yesterday to live sober as I do this Sunday.

I listen to a lot of internet radio sports/music/comedy, and I noticed an uptick in the amount of commercials for taverns. Some get very specific with their prices and what types of drinks are on special. It can be triggering.

My first Narcotics Anonymous meeting was in 1980. At that time, "we," only had a white pamphlet to go on, and were prompted to use AA's Big Book. I think, that is don't remember, but the NA Basic Text which I and my XAW helped with approval, came out in early '80s. Despite today's schism and sometimes animosities between NA and AA, both fellowships helped each other with the addict issue during the 60s/70s.

Boy I think this joe has done its purpose and I'm rambling.

Everyone have a rough and tumble day! Wrestle with those problems and come out on top! Or let go!

Mid to high 80’s until cooling off and rain later this week. I’m boring with my weather reporting but this heat has been hellish so early here. I have not turned on the AC yet. Home AC wasn’t common in my youth. We didn’t even have it in cars in the old days.

I am not familiar with NA. Whatever works is a good thing.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Imvalentine, I tell my kids that I did not grow up with air conditioning in the house, nor car either. I had a car without ac as recently as 18 years ago. I can't imagine living without these days.

I am told that around my way, NA membership skews towards youth, especially with the opioid crisis of today, while AA tends to be older folks. I know the AA meetings I have attended were definitely people whom had decades of drinking under their belts.

Have a good day all!
