Methinks the whole experience would be diminished somewhat. Thoughts?

You are still talking about vaping, right?

I'm trying to remember the case of a WHO doc who said something very similar about a year ago, but there's so much BS that it becomes impossible to remember all of it.

Uh, yes chief. I was funnin with the ludicrous supposition that maybe some IV-meth-using-gay-porn-stars share their gear as sex toys or weapons on each other and draw blood and then rinse the said equipment in tap water and resell it 'as new' and spread the disease that way...or sumpin similar. Who knows? The data is real because it was said...right? On a serious note: isn't south america a huge supplier of tobacco for the world? Hmmmm......

Politics aside.... I'm all about that juice lately. Recently purchased the 10-pack from VM and am set for at least a month for 20 us dollars. Ludicrous as this does not even add up to habit status. Anyhoo, I have yet to try the menthol but don't know why....started cigs 38 yrs ago with Kool milds and switched. Who cares at $2 per 15 ml bottlette of high grade/vg juice. Have become a RDA user exclusively in the past month so I may need a program Just funnin y'all---what happened to the energy that was once here?

Found a cool blog --Vapewhore. She vapes a lot like myself and has some great tips on DIY juice, etc. Like me she used ancient protanks for the longest and recently went RDA and never going back. Can't believe I waited as long as I did but I build like 1/30th the coils I used to. I might change cotton every week but the wire holds up well. I'm still a mouth-to-lunger so taping off the bigger airholes and re-puncturing smaller worked well (one actually--a single 1 ohmer is all I'm needing for excellent flavor). I also went with a thicker o-ring from the hardware store for the cap (it snaps on tight now). I do carry a juice bottle (sometimes 2) but don't really mind. Pretty compact too with the Istick 30. I get all day battery life @ 17.5 watts so I'm a pretty happy camper. Was gonna put a better battery in it but just don't want to bother going in right now. Already had to re-solder the wires to board right after I got it (it was a clone from fasttech). The pass-thru charging makes it easy to just plug in anywhere. I never even received the vamo 25 mini I ordered from Gearbest but they did finally refund my money. Won't be doing business with them ever again. Simplicity is where it's at for me these days. Watching new tanks and TC boxes come out daily has been mind-boggling in the last year. If I do get another tank it will have to have adjustable juice flow, rebuildable deck and not be as big as a volkswagon. I don't mind refilling. I get tired of the same flavor after 1 ml. Any body out there tried the Landmark tank? With the RDA I can vape 20 flavors in a day but usually only do about 4. Vape on folks!

Not sure. Given what site we are on, I assume many have other priorities over vaping. Then there's also the constant negative news about vaping, it does kinda spoil the enthusiasm.

Also: people who get into vaping often come to a stage where they are happy with their current setup, and lose the appetite for buying/trying new gear and/or juices. I know I haven't bought anything in quite a while now.

I'm still here, but I feel like I kinda reached that point you are talking about around my 1 year anniversary of freedom from cigarettes. The DNA 200 was the last new thing that really excited me and now that I have one, I just don't see anything else out there that could equal or top it. I am interested in that SX mini ML class but I'm not sure what's going on as far as a release date. I'd like to see some reviews and more detailed specs from Yihi before I plan anything there. Currently I have 8 tanks 4 mods and an RDA and like them all. So mainly I just restock coils and juice. I am stalking my mail crew for the Herakles Plus today tho. I am looking forward to that tank!!

Chief, I have a question for you. In your opinion which do you think is safer vaping material- stainless steel or nickel?

That's a difficult one. Need to start by saying I'm not a metallurgist, obviously. Ultimately, for me, I would conclude: both are probably safe, and titanium grade 1 is probably just as safe - if not safer.

We seem to think kanthal or nichrome are inherently safe, where as the newer types could be less so. Truth is that neither were really systematically tested before, nor were they compared to other types of heating wire. Sure, they were used much longer than Ni200, Ti1 or SS in vaping, but people tend to forget that those are alloys too, and for example, nichrome is 80% nickel too.

Dr. Farsalinos is doing a series of studies on vaping and temperatures, but I'm not sure if he has/had the time to really test different wires.

However: we know from a number of studies that there is virtually no metals (or metal oxides) emission in normal vaping. Sure, there are always trace amounts (and they seemed to be higher with some cigalikes), but those are still less than the normal levels you will find in safe potable water. As an aside: I once had our water tested for my koi pond, and you'd be amazed how many scary sounding elements are present, but as always: it's the dose that makes the poison.

There might be a bigger problem with dry burning wires (of any material, not just NI200 or Ti1), depending on what temperatures are reached. Titanium oxide is surely formed - even at lower temps, but that will not separate from the wire until temps > 1000°F are reached (the different coloration you see depending on the temperatures reached is a function of those oxides, going from yellow to blue to dull white - dull white is is what you want to avoid)

It goes a lot further; titanium is one of the most inert metals known to date. There's also discussion whether t. oxides are a possible carcinogen - but all that would lead us too far.

It may help to watch this video of two experts when it comes to ecigs. They apply a lot of common sense:

PS: I should watch my own links, as Dr. F. does announce that he'll also be testing different types of wire.

Boy howdy the fire department here in town is quick. Too quick . And the smoke detectors at work are pretty good, if not not consistent.
Started my day as usual vape in hand in the office, not sure if it was the specific humidity and temperature or what .... but I set off the fire alarm , duh. Cant unring those bells, lol. The Chief pulls up and I explain that AI checked the building and don't think anything is 'burning', he looks over my shoulder and down the hall and says "Are you sure? Looks pretty hazy in there"
I sheepishly held up my SX Mini , he laughed " Yep that'll do 'er"
Suppose I should leave the fan on in here , like I did all summer , when there was no problem
Vape On! (and fan too, duh)

Wait, what?

Alarms are tricky. Ours (el cheapo) sometimes goes off when there's a lit candle in the room, or we simply are boiling water in the kitchen.

So yeah, a fan, holding vapor in for 2 more seconds than usual, slightly higher PG, pointing the exhale down to the floor, it all can help. Higher humidity will increase apparent vapor (well, aerosol technically).

In other news, I recently switched to a ... higher nic level. I'm back to 9 mg from 6, and what I had hoped for did happen: I vape a lot less, more than 50% less even. Given that nicotine isn't harmful and well studied, this reduced the residual risk of vaping (mostly in the flavoring as is well documented by now) by half. Of course, this means I somehow don't see myself quit vaping. I went down each time - like so many - with the idea of ending at 0mg and then quitting, but for now that strategy is shelved.

We also converted another smoker (60 years of smoking...) to ecigs - she is using my DIY juice - and there are 2 more in the near future: I'm going to give them a demo at their house (a bit like Tupperware parties in the previous century. ) I'm still a bit hesitant, mainly because of the press and the coming regulations in most of the world*, but the health benefit is more important to me.

In more other news, irony has it that ecig and e-liquid sales in my country will become legal this month as can be read in this translated article here The minister calls for "specialist shops"... hmmm... maybe I do see a future in this area after all.

The SHC now advises in "to sell e-cigarettes only in specialized outlets where the necessary information is provided and, even better, where trained staff will guide the customer"
I think it's fair to say I would probably qualify for such a job. Also, I can't help thinking that my presentation on ecigs to the people who advise this minister on tobacco control, back in Sept 2014, may have played a small role as well.

* ecig sales have become impossible - and even a crime - in Malaysia and Singapore in the last few months.

No nicotine one week still love vaping zero. I went from two half to three packs of maverick menthol one hundreds to vaping to no nicotine eight months. I tried quitting with an itaste mvp but it didn't work. So I bought sigelei 150 watt and vapeston maganus and it had the power I needed. I only went up to thirty watt and reduced nicotine from highest to lowest. I don't know how long I'll vape zero not to long cause the liquid I like going out of buisness.

Congratulations on no nicotine dsmaxis. It is a goal of mine to get there as well just because I'd like to finally be free of another addiction. I'd like to stop using caffeine eventually as well. I'm sure you'll find another juice you like. If you browse around online, you can find some really good deals on decent juice. Talking like 120 ml for 12 to 20 dollars. Let me know if you want info on any companies. Plume Juice is pretty popular, but their max vg destroys my coils. You've got an awesome set up! I've heard good things about that Maganus tank and Sigelie is a great mod.

Unwell Crown and Steam Crave Arommiser rdta, holy moly!
Used the included occ coil in the Aromamiser and the flavor burst was awesome, tried my own build on the two post deck and didn't do half bad, looking forward to continued experiments

I'm having a longer period in which I didn't buy anything. However, the only thing I did consider trying was the Aromamizer - especially as it is rather cheap.

My wife keeps confiscating my "backups" though - currently she has to make do with a VaporFlask 2.1 and an SX Mini M. (and my two backup Lemo2's..) So technically I am entitled to another device, no?

Nah, I'm good for the moment. Today marks 2 years (and 51650 cigs less) cigarette free. Or maybe that deserves to be celebrated with an Aromamizer? Hmmm...
