Weekend Warriors Weekenders 03-06 September 2021
Newbie here with 45 hours of sobriety!! Going to go downstairs, pay a bill, drive to the post office right next to a favorite bar, and then go hike along an urban waterway taking photographs. Hopefully I will sweat out a few more toxins along the way and by the time I am done I will have finished my day #2.
Carrying all of my lenses and filters with me. Hope to get a few good photos!

So did I, Kaily. Then I re-read all of the posts, thinking that, maybe, someone else had said it.
Anyway, I love walking in the rain, too; just love rain, in general. Many years ago, I found the best, hooded rain jacket; the hood can be tied tightly as can the cuffs, making it very rain tight - also has a zip-in vest for cold weather. Best jacket ever.

Welcome to Weekenders jtennery, congratulations on 45 hours!
Round of applause to you too Forwards!
The fish and chips was excellent Mags but no longer cheap that's for sure.
London gets a lot less rain than the rest of the country. (which reminds me, I hope you are OK in Manchester MantaLady) The week I climbed Ben Nevis I also went to Torridon in Scotland where they average over 2 metres or 80 inches of rain (it rains there 200+ days a year - I forget how many exactly but it was on a notice board by the Post Office. Fortunately not while I was there.
Cool video CaptainHaddock, Heidelberg is an attractive city like most University towns. The bumping in to people reminds me of that Verve/Richard Ashcroft, Bittersweet Symphon video from the late 1990's. I wonder if that was a deliberate nod to them?
The video for that was filmed in Hoxton Street - a 2 minute walk from Saoutchik Towers. I'm pretty sure they still haven't finished the roadworks at the start of the video. It's an absolute classic so I had better play it hadn't I:-

Thanks São, of course I know the song, but as if by coincidence I only stumbled upon the official music video two weeks or so ago. It is a classic and I think Lebanon Hanover might very well have paid tribute to it.
Interesting to see the annual rainfall figures for London and other places.
I guess sunshine hours help make a climate enjoyable - my corner of the world gets 27" of rain annually too, but also around 2,000 hours of sunshine. Could do with more...
Bittersweet Symphony has such a compelling melody and rhythm, doesn't it.

I also love seeing everyone’s photos, especially the animals and scenery.
I’m feeling a bit sad this morning, partly because it’s Father’s Day here and I was supposed to be with my family today to remember my Dad, but can’t travel at the moment and had to cancel our flights.
But the photos and all your posts give me a feeling of connection. Thanks to you all ❤️
Edit. The photo didn’t repost, but never mind
thanks Suze ❤️ I’m just feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning and missing my family.
And my visiting friend was drinking & smoking last night and she had a snarky dig at me for me having “always been too straight” which upset me too. We used to party pretty hard when I knew her 20 plus years ago, but she implied that even back then I wasn’t much fun I stayed sober, but now I just want her to leave, but she’s decided to stay another night. Tomorrow she will be going, because if she changes her mind I will tell her to go. My partner also said he will happily tell her it’s time to go, he didn’t like her comments either.
