Weekend Warriors Weekenders 03-06 September 2021
Willow
Your friend sounds like a very unsettled person and an unsettling person to be around. I hope you can put the weekend and all that has happened behind you. You've got 16 weeks sober. Keep on doing what you've been doing and don't let anyone get in the way of what you have achieved. Take care.

Well done on 16 weeks, Willow, and especially on seeing your way through a weekend with your “friend?”. Feeling the ill effects of the time spent with her is probably catching up with you. Be gentle with yourself; the AV won’t like that; it wants you to beat yourself up; don’t listen to it.
Omg. The ‘why don’t you…..’ is a very aggressive form of communication. Was she expecting an answer to that? No. Just criticizing.
Regarding ‘Should’ing on people.. Here’s Free’s rules:
Don’t ‘should’ on other people and don’t ‘should’ on yourself.
’Shoulding’ is done in the privacy of a water closet or bathroom, and then discreetly flushed away…..
Congrats on 16 weeks!
Dont confuse abstinence with control.
😘

Thanks so much Bim, Robbie, Mags, Leigh, Free, Aly
And everyone else too, Dee, Suze, Kaily, Sao, Captain, Purps, Cityboy, Dustyfox, Forwards, Erratic, and I’m sure I’ve missed a bunch of you in this moment (quick morning tea break), but I do really appreciate each and every one of you. I’m so grateful to have all of you here on SR ❤️
I wouldn’t have gotten through the weekend without knowing you’re all here and you’ve all got my back.
Thank you all

Morning Weekenders
Well done Erratic, yesterday sounded like a tough one for you but it's a new day and it's great to be sober.
I've got a Carpenters song going through my head this morning, 'Rainy Days And Mondays'. Not because I'm feeling down but simply because it's Monday and it's raining! It's the first song that popped into my head when I opened the curtains and saw the weather outside.

I like that song too
It’s really sunny here today.
I’ll attach a picture I took this morning looking up at the sky in my driveway as I opened the gate before I drove out to go to work. I was feeling a rare moment of pure happiness as I walked down the driveway and breathed in the beautiful fresh clean crisp air. I think part of it was gratitude at being sober in such a glorious spring morning, and part relief that the woman who had been staying was leaving and I’d managed to stay sober. And I knew that I wouldn’t be fully appreciating the beauty of the morning if I had been hungover. Anyway, for whatever reason, it was a moment of pure happy
