Morning everyone. Slept in 'till 8am, off to work for a few hours today. One last thing to do before the office opens tomorrow.

Good luck with the ice skating MB.

I looooved the video, Dragon. I've wanted to learn guitar for-ever. You're starting to inspire me...what a nice gift to us, thank you.

MB, good luck on the date. At least it will be a lot of laughs. Or is that just me on skates?

Free. I am very hopeful that something will come up for your daughter...I said a prayer for her.

Anyone lurking this thread and suffering with your drinking, a prayer for you too. Say a prayer for yourself. Do something. Don't wait until the inevitable downward spiral - it can happen in a split second. I'm so so grateful to be going into my sixth sober year here in a couple months.

Coffee for me, then back on track with my food. It's been ten days of indulging - and I've been changing away from wheat, too. So that's a challenge that I've been facing with more cheese and fruit and nuts. Not sure I was supposed to replace 200 calories of bread with 800 calories of cheese and nuts but. Oh well.

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam Eagle chicklets are just a week old:

Welcome to Weekenders Primativo!

Good to see you Nefercharmichael, tekink.

Hey Dragon, you're really good on that uke. Excellent.

Braved the elements to go to the Cotswolds and look at some classic cars. There were a good few people there who were, shall we say jaded looking.

This is a Bentley from the mid 1930s

Nice job on 6 years Carlotta and Bim.

We just watched a movie called Other People with Jesse Plemmons. Mrs Vman was crying her eyes out. Have to say imo it's a good film.

Goodnight weekenders

I promised myself I would go on a walk everyday in 2019...it’s 7:30pm and the first day of the year so just got my trainers on and going for a walk before bed! If I make an excuse today it makes it easier to make an excuse tomorrow, no more excuses. Xx

Goodnight lovely people xx

I just posted about how to stop cravings. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was probably more concise. I Hope its inordinate length doesn't put people off.

Happy New Year gang!

I hope each of you has something on your 2019 calendar that brings you joy.

Oh, and what’s this? Tomorrow is hump day. That brings me a wee bit of joy.

MNB- perhaps just go without a label on the outing. After the fact- it will be more clear to you. People hopefully are pretty consistent with their behavior- so this guy will not suddenly turn into Casanova I think (or Pepe le Pew).
I can also understand your thoughts though. I have a friend, a pretty young lady who was befriended by this guy- were both on the recovery program I did. He drove her to meetings- then made a move on her (in a nice way, but all she wanted was a friend, not a romantic interest).

2/1/19 here now, 0753

MNB- I can understand the confusion. I have a friend- she is in the recovery program I was in. A guy in this program befriended her- drove her to meetings, the beach etc- all she saw was a friend, but he thought differently- a nice enough guy, but a little clueless perhaps.

That being said- just go ice skating, see how it pans out- you choose what you do.

Hi friends and happy new year. Thank you for all
Your support! It was great waking up sober today. My anxiety has been so bad lately but I made it through. We had a really nice family day. Just snuggled my little one to sleep and I think I’m just going to relX the rest of the night.
I wrote down my 2019 goals! It helps to see things in writing:
Lose 15 pounds (I’ve lost and maintained around 50 pounds since summer of 2016 but have gained almost ten in the last month! As I’ve said before I’ve been eating lots of junk since not drinking and I think that’s why)
Be patient and take 3 deep breaths before reacting
Read at least one book every 5 weeks
Do more things that make ME happy (crafts, reading, walks, singing, etc.
Obviously STAY SOBER !

Side note: dragon your uke videos make me so happy! You have a great talent!

Thanks HootOwl. It's not so much about having talent. But it is all about staying sober, doing something worthwhile with my time and pratice practice practice. I've always had an interest in musical instruments but denied myself in favour of the bottle.

Babies are trying to sleep, but momma (or pappa) eagle keeps nudging them while trying to tidy the nest.
