Go for it MB!

Bim, this is so me! “Not sure I was supposed to replace 200 calories of bread with 800 calories of cheese and nuts but. Oh well.”

SPAM...
It seems there are ethanol and methanol content in places you would have never imagined, bread, fruit, non ripe bananas, ventoline inhaler... probably micro amounts but it makes you wonder all the same.

Like PJ says, no rush. Most people are nice enough on a first "date."
I can definitely relate Bim.....the last part about being "nice enough on a first date" reminds me of a quote from my sister: "Everybody's perfect the first six months"

Off to get ready for work but I'll check back in later.....thanks everyone for being here!

Happy Thursday! I'm having a tough start to 2019. Work is really difficult, husband is away at his work, guilt trip because dogs are too neglected … nothing earth-shattering, but just NOT the way I want this year to go. Gonna try to get a handle on this right now so it doesn't define this new year. First, find a way to make work more enjoyable (not sure how, but I'll really try). Make the time my hubby's home more relaxing. Hire the neighbor's kid to come play with dogs on busy days, and get home earlier for longer walks when possible. Ugh, why can't life just be easier?

But I'm still sober! So it's not all bad …

I hope you all are having a better three days of January! Signed, Whiney Zoeydog

We often pick up our neighbours dog - at her request when she's working late. She's a cute little thing and gets along with our dog. It's nice break in the winter as it often gets way to cold for our little one to go on walkies.

I was at the first ever 'ukestra' gathering last night. We are creating the citys first ever ukulele orchestra. About 20ish of us. Once we build up a repertoire, we'll be doing public peformances. I'm so excited about this!

I hear you zoeydog! Work is not going the way I would like either and the start of the year is way more stressful than I would like it to be, so like you, I need to tackle the issue right now before things become overwhelming and unmanageable. One reason I took the job was no working away from home as I knew this was not for me anymore since I got sober. They said a couple of trips to London over the whole 3 months which I was ok with. It’s now turned into 2 days in London every week for the next 4 weeks, I have to pay for it myself and then claim back a month later which has cost me over £1500 so far and I just don’t have that kind of money spare. I know this is going to stress me out and is not good for me.

Anyhow, enough moaning and groaning from me.

Hope all goes well on your “not date” MB!

X

Manta - I think it's worth talking to your employer and explaining that you don't have funds to pay for these expenditures out of your pocket and ask them to compensate on a weekly basis or work out another financial arrangement which will take the stress away from the equation.

If they are adequate people there should be no problem with settling it.

And thank you for wishing me luck with my "not a date". )

Ok, I am off to my "not sure it's a date".

Time to test my long forgotten ice-skating skills.

That's great news about the Ukestra Dragon.

Sorry about your respective job issues zoeydog and MantaLady, I agree with MB about refunding you sooner ML, if they said a couple of times over ther course of 3 months but it is every week then that is a material change.

Have fun tonight MidnightBlue.

Evening, weekenders.

Just got back from my "not a date" and I did have fun. It went very friendish so far. I liked it that way.

Since the guy is a very good skater and I was holding his hand all the time I didn't even take a single fall.

I hope after all this time outdoors I will have a good night sleep.

Thank you for your support, weekenders.

You are the best

That’s great MB
Hi weekenders

New Years Day we left the crowds and went off to camp in the bush beside a lovely flowing stream in the middle of nowhere. Nobody around anywhere. Oh what nourishment for my soul. I had time to sit beside the stream, listen to the water flowing over rocks, the birds chirping in the trees and bushes, feel the breeze on my face and watch the swaying leaves and wildflowers in the breeze. It was a beautiful reset to my system. We’re back in society again now but I had a reprieve, and it was a beautiful chance to recharge my batteries and remind me of what’s important to me, some quiet time in nature really soothes my soul, and when we get home, I’m going to re-jig things in my life to ensure that I can make time for quiet contemplation in nature in my life every day.

If/When we do our first live performance, I'll make sure it gets taped.
