Dee. Leg wounds are the worst. Great opening analogy.

It takes humility and self awareness to ask for help .

So glad we are all here

Welcome to Weekenders Free2bme!

I have a lot of bore chores to do that I have been neglecting recently, at least I will not have to do them with a hangover.

Morning Weekenders.

Happy Saturday. My first hang over free Saturday morning in longer than I care to imagine.

This isn’t easy but I can see why people say stick to it. If it does get easier and things start to get better then what a chance. Today I would usually start drinking around lunchtime no plans today am out for lunch with my niece no alcohol required.

Hope you’re all good.

Welcome to the weekender longlady and kaytea.

Morning all.

Still sad to hear about Jack's passing Least.

I love the photo from your house Manta. It reminds me of growing up in rural Ireland.

How are you doing MB?

See you all later.

Morning weekenders!

Kaytea - congrats on reaching your 30 milestone yesterday, way to go!
LHW - really happy to hear your social event went well and you go through it sober, I had every faith that you would!
Wood4trees - first sober Saturday! Woohoo, it gets better so keep it up!

Kev - Like Free I am glad you posted about your dating experience and thoughts too, I can so relate. I would always move too quicky and that was always down to alcohol, I'd get drunk and the person would seem like the most suitable mate ever and once I had sobered up I would realise it wasn't the reality. I too looked for other broken souls to connect with as thought that would give us a strong common bond but it never worked out well. I have been single and not dating for at least 3 years now. I looked at my past relationships and also wondered what the bond was, what was really special about them and the truth is they were all for the wrong reasons. I am so wary now that I just have stopped looking lol. I had always been pretty co-dependent on my partners and could never stay single for long. Having a few years of just being on my own and learning to be comfortable being single has definately made a difference in how I view potential dates and I don't go jumping in feet first anymore. xx

Just caught up... some lovely posts here as usual. Hi to everyone.
I'm currently still in bed nursing an awful headache and still in pain from an incident/accident yesterday where i took a blow to my eye and cheekbone... ouch!
I'm such a wuss when I get injured... I'm a slow healer. At least it's the weekend and I'm not in work.
Catch you all later. xx

LOL, Vman! Petals fighting MB! so funny.
Happy Saturday, Weekenders. So many new voices here, which makes me very happy. Weekends are really tough for me, with no work distractions and coming from a social life that almost always involved alcohol on weekends. I've had to cut some friends out (sad), and turn down invitations because I'm just not quite ready for serious temptations yet.

Today I'm feeling like burrowing in -- I usually hike or do something challenging. But I'm tired, and the cravings were unusually tough yesterday. Weird, out of nowhere they hit me hard for some reason. But I did fine, and today I'm feeling much better and stronger. I guess that was a warning that I'm never completely AV free, and need to keep my guard up.

Hope you all have a great sober Saturday!

Day 6 and Saturday and not hungover is a good feeling. Husband went out last night and said he's actually feeling ok as he usually gets a bad head after beer but never admits to it so didn't have much last night. Think we are both in a sensible place in our lives now it appears!

Ordering a take away for this evening and renting a movie instead of drinking wine and passing out on the sofa.

Good morning!

Congrats on day 6 Longlady.....Lots of us enjoying the fruits of a hangover-free Saturday.

Vman, I had assumed you were French. We were so fortunate to enjoy another holiday in rural Ireland this June. The weather was unusually brilliant and the countryside was like a postcard.

Off to pick up breakfast for a bunch of my daughter’s dance team friends that had a sleepover after the game last night. It’s such a treasure to be engaged with her life without the presence of a hangover or in the process of creating one!

Good Morning invisible friends! It's a beautiful morning here in this part of the US. Just enjoyed a cup of coffee on my porch and wishing the weather would stay this way forever.

Going to a pilates class shortly and then off to a local farmers market. I get all of my chores and laundry done during the week so that I have the weekend fairly free, so not sure what I will get into until it's time for dinner. The friend I am meeting is taking an Uber to the restaurant. She remembers my DUI as she drove me around a few times when I lost my license, so she acts very responsibly. I would by lying if I didn't say I have a twinge of envy that I can't just have one or two like she can. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day and will check in later.

Take away pizza night.
I think I will let the others choose.
I always get Hawaiian with fresh cream ham cheese and pineapples.... Yummy.

Had a little AV moment in the afternoon. Was home alone and AV was trying to fool me...
Needless to say I beat it off with a stick.

How are you doing Captain Haddock I see you connected...?

Goodnight weekenders
