Willow, look into TRE (trauma release exercise) and if you have any practitioners near you might be worth a visit. Itís a bit weird and odd at first but it really helps release stress from your body. Take care of yourself xx

Thank you Dee, hope your leg is feeling much better, must've been extremely painful.

: Weekenders, Happy Weekend,

Last day of my holiday today, and it's been a good one. Memories made to be cherished. Some reflective time re my drinking and resolve to never go back to that hell again, spent too long there already.

Anyway, packing to be done, Yuk. Love to all and wishing everyone a good day. SP

Hi - I'm in for the weekend.

Had a couple of minor slips this past week, but I march on. The psycho-therapy is really helping me a lot, helping to realize that I have been using wine to numb my pain, something I have denied for a long time. I have always said I am not trying to numb anything and that is just not the case. Now I am working on the intense personal issue that I am numbing. One thing I am noticing is that without the alcohol, these feelings are exposed and my tendency is to want to "take a pill" to make it go away (rhetorically speaking). Hopefully with the help of my therapist, I can figure out how to feel better without anesthetizing my feelings.

So.....I have battled loneliness for a long time and have two social events this weekend. One tonight and one tomorrow afternoon. Both were invites extended to me, not the other way around, which is something that has rarely happened. I have longed for that, but I feel like hibernating and isolating instead. I won't, I will do them. I need to do them. Baby steps, right?

Hope all have a good weekend and I will check in periodically.

A lot of times when I dread participating in a social event it turns out to be a surprisingly good time, and I’m really glad I went.

Friday, huh?

Dee..

I will definitely watch my feet when walking. I've been known to break a few bones by not doing so.

All's well on the PNW corner of the U.S. Beautiful Fall days. My favorite. I can't wait until the winter squash starts appearing in stores. I have my new stash of spices. Mmmm curried butternut soup.

Hi weekeneders!

I never knew Snickers wasn't always called Snickers! But then again that seemed to have been before my times, kind of.

Sending you hugs LHW My drinking was all about numbing I would say. I sometimes still wish there was a pill or something to make certain memories and feelings go away. But drinking or numbing them in any other way is just like avoiding a box with unpaid bills. They won't get paid by avoiding them and normally things get worse over time when not dealt with. Same goes for feelings. I noticed that when I'm sad about something and just try to face the emotion, cry and feel the despair and all, I usually feel better afterwards. When I try to avoid facing the feeling and just distract myself, it builds up to something much bigger and keeps sitting somewhere in the back of my head until I deal with it.

Thanks Kevlarsjal2. I did just that - went out for a walk to try to distract myself from what I was feeling this morning, but came back in the house and cried and just let the despair wash over me. It was over in a few minutes and I do feel a little bit better. Thankfully I have a therapist appointment later on this afternoon.

Some of you know that I am studying to become a Health/Life Coach....and as part of my course I have these calls along the way with professional coaches....yesterday (or before because I had to fill out the form for the call in advance...needs, expectations etc) I changed it up on them. Completely.

I essentially ignored what we are supposed to do in that form and asked for help. Loud and clear....I made myself completely vulnerable. It was in fact a little scary....I don't really know my coach that well yet....not like I know you guys....I did not know what would happen.

What happened was the most amazing and beautiful counselling session of my life. Help beyond anything I could imagine.

I am so glad I did this. I got me back...I was lost in overwhelm land....I am no longer lost. ♥

D ~ OMG.....what a bad accident. I can feel that....
And it wasn't that long ago the bike thing happened....sheesh....

Nick always tells me that I need bubble wrap....I have lots here....enough for you, me and half of SR.

I know, silly me......just keep healing and please don't do that again. () ♥♥

Good afternoon to Willow. You made the right move and Bravo !

I'm a bit hoarse and thraot and chest are a little coarse this morning. Coughing is like tearing a sheet of paper. Last weekend we had three couples of friends with their children, 4 or 5 sick children running wild all weekend. The little virusses and little bacteria everywhere... To top it all off thats two weekes since the children are back in school so they had just about the right amount of time to spread and share their little friends...

Oh well, poor me, better soldier on !

On a more positive note : IT'S FRIDAY
Mobile Germ Factories - such adorable little creatures! They have gotten the better of me so many times.

Feel better, my friend.

Welcome to Weekenders Wood4Trees and Freshstartagain!

It was the New Scientist Live Exhibition I went to - the Engineering Zone in my case. This is the priapically named Thrust SSC for the next Land Speed Record attempt although it appeared to be lacking an engine

There are a lot of recipes online.

I think I use (mostly) this one: Curried Butternut Squash Soup
