Brynn- you need to go grocery shopping!! lol.

Brain- your breakfast looked awesome this morning!!

Weasel- good job on the chicken parmesan!! it looks really good.

Marty- I hate clothes shopping too. It sounds like you did well. I get really frustrated. lol I have to be in the right mood to do it.

Melina- thanks for sharing a picture of the bees! You look great!

Jen- Thanks for the pictures. Your hike sounded really nice. It's hard to stay inside and work on nice days.

I had a good day today. I stayed busy and out of trouble. DH made chicken curry for dinner. Grateful for a sober weekend.

I'm stoked! My mom gave me a pressure cooker. She traded up to an electric one. This is how I get a lot of my cool kitchen stuff, like my VitaMix. Mom buys one, uses it a while, and decides she wants the newer, fancier one. Works for me. I was just looking up recipes. Going to make something with it tomorrow. I want to try pork chops, because to get today's super-lean pork tender you usually have to cook it a long time. Either that or a beef pot roast. The timing on this is perfect, since I'm going back to work. I'll be able to cook something in under an hour that would have taken twice as long. Yay!!!

Nice work on scoring that pressure cooker, Marty! Now it's my turn to be jealous! Today I made vegetable soup with fresh veggies from the market with some rice. Turned out to be kinda 'meh' and not so tasty. Tomorrow the 'fish guys' will stop by with fresh catches from the Pacific so I am looking forward to their normal 10am visit in our neighborhood.

Off to bed. I watched a BBC documentary and have some audiobooks to catch up on. Thanks for letting me share this weekend, it always helps to have a place to come and share a few words with others out there fighting the same battle.

Lots of "addition by subtraction" with sobriety on weekends, eh? We DON'T wake up every Monday morning wondering if we got hit by a bus. We DON'T regret our behavior. We DON'T have a terrible case of dread every Sunday night. We are not sapping our strength and confidence every weekend, instead we are building, growing, and expanding our foundations. Congrats everyone who made it through one more weekend sober, and thanks so much for starting this thread as always Weas.

Agreed! Melina looks absolutely gorgeous!

I would love to come to everyone's house for dinner!
I've been eating so healthy lately that I've kinda lost interest in eating, and just make sure to eat enough to keep my calories up.
I don't even like Kale!!!! It was a bit more a delight being fat and unhealthy.
Though I just had a salad that was super duper delicious right now.

Brynn I always love hearing about your dinners! Haha! Xoxoxo

I'm home, didn't finish everything at work; but I'll get up at 6 am and go back to finish and nobody will know otherwise.
The good news is that I'll be done by noon, and then I can go back to the mountains for the afternoon.
The mountains and forests have turned into what the drinking used to be- sneaking away from work and shirking responsibilities to go out there......
This is apparently just what I do....

What else.....
Oh yeah! I have a date with skype guy on tues that I'm really looking forward to!

Well I talked to my brother about rent since he's been here every night for 2 weeks.
He said he'll pay, which is good.
I'll have to make him actually do it I think.
I'm not good at having other people here; he's home early in the day; I often get home at night.
I hate a hot house and he turns the heat up high; making it hard for me to sleep, I turn it down and up it goes again.

My neighbours park almost in front of my door, and leave the whole front of their house empty, then my brother parks right in from of my house; which in turn makes me have to park down the street and walk back up to my house.
Ugh- I just can't bitch at him for every single little thing though ya know?

First world problems I know, but still annoying

The thing that makes it more difficult too, is that I hear from other people my brother thinks thinks I'm the coolest, smartest and most fun person ever- so I hate to be nagging him and nitpicking at him about everything.

I got a $19.00 lobster roll that was delicious! Yum. And free.
Then, when they gave me a hotel room voucher they also gave me another one for dinner and one for breakfast. But I'm not hungry and the only place to get food is the bar anyway. Not a good idea.
Here i sit in a beautiful hotel room. To bad I only have 6 hours to spend here. I'll be up early tomorrow to get back to the airport. I'm anxious to get home.

Probably not the best idea to hang out at the bar HaF. Safe travels

I think a lot of it has to do with this-
You know when you're already annoyed at someone; then you start getting annoyed at EVERYTHING ?
It's like a snowball- it starts with rent, then turns into parking, heat...
Then soon it'll be- you're thinking too loud, why do you eat like that?! Why do you wear green?
I just need to be aware of that.

I also haven't really known my brother- he only reappeared roughly a year ago and has had a bad time- he lost his wife, house, job etc.
If he pays the rent I'll lay off- I think he just needs a soft spot to land and get his life back.
I can chill ( I think)
I'm gonna try to stop complaining about him.

Yea, that probably sums this weekend up.

You know how they say about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Why do I hear a train whistle?

Awwww! ((( hug)))
I don't have an answer or anything clever to say.
What do you like to do?
Though I must say I do admire your use of emojis and smilies! You always choose just the right ones!
