Belong? Sober Weekender Thread July 9 until...

"PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT PEOPLE LIKE ME AS A MEMBER".
Being around this place for a bit, I often read posts by people who say they don't feel they should post if they drank or messed up or are not quite stopped but have a true desire to live sober.
Well... That's just stupid really. I posted here while trying over and over and over... I posted here when I went through some of the most horrific events of my life. And I am still here. Because this place is the only place I could find that would have someone like me as a member.
That's translated into a thankfulness and gratefulness and confidence that I am ok. That I deserve to live a sober life as much as anyone else I read here who has "done" it. Done what?
This is not a done kind of thing. If you think you need to stay quiet cuz you are not the ideal candidate for a simple post for help then you are absolutely in the right spot at the right time.
I want to dedicate this weekender to those that want to join in and are afraid. We don't bite. Say hello. We are certainly just like you and we can all do this together.

As for me I want to help kick off this weekend's thread with a picture from last night. I spent some time out with some lovely people and I got to see one of my favorite places from a whole new light. I am such an early person I was out at dusk! Ha ha ....

Weather is dreary today, rain forecast all day too. Going to get son cleaning with me, as we will be stuck inside all day. Also he has a list of things he needs to find for vacation next week.
After the events of the weekend, his dad seemed really "off" last night. Actually wondering if he is going to disappear in the near future. Also, son's glasses broke last week, and he did nothing about it, nor did he tell me, so going to be rushing around trying to get replacements in time for holiday - son is blind without them.

All kinds of fun here. There are always funny jokes, fantastic photography, delicious food, great music and dancing, sometimes even a little magic, and really, really good people!

I'm in! Should be a quiet weekend at the cabin with no company, really looking forward to it. First two more days of work to get through. This is the longest week! Seems like it's already been five days.
Perfect summer day, will go out for a walk at lunch.

Such is my mental state this morning that I thought you started this thread on Wednesday, Weas. "What the?!" Was my first reaction. Maybe coffee will help.
Learningagain, I've had good luck with Lenscrafters for quick glasses if they still have their lab on premises. I'm sunk without my glasses as well. You've reminded me I should make an eye appointment. Good luck.
Have to get kids up and ready. Taking them to grandma for transport to day camp today.

Weas, if I may be so nosy, what kind of phone do you have? I use mine as my camera now too. When I have several perfectly good cameras floating around. Film? What's that?
