Belong? Sober Weekender Thread July 9 until...
Hey bus riders! Someone posted "pizza" and that was all I needed to order one for myself tonight. I found a couple of books at the library from this list:
10 Life-Changing Books That Will Stay With You Forever | Live Happy Magazine
It's a lay-low and rest-up kinda night for me. Woohoo!

So there we were, driving down the road and this song starts on the radio. I turned it up a bit. My mother says: "Well, that's nice. You should listen to more music like that." Then the intro ended.

Well, home from work. Phew. It was a busy day but still seemed to drag on and on.
The weatherman has promised, promised that the heat is going down soon. I hope he is correct.
Not going to the islands this weekend, Bim, going next Thursday evening. This weekend I have little planned. So far.
Glad tomorrow is Friday!

I hate to admit it but my parents had awesome taste in music. I was raised on Jimi Hendrix, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and Janice Joplin.
Supposed to hit 100 here by Tuesday. It will finally feel like summer here! Ha!

I'm home after running all over creation. Picked up kids. New sitter's car was towed due to sister parking it where it wasn't supposed to be so she couldn't. Played in the park. Band class. Took son and his friend and my daughter out for hot dogs after band then dropped the little girl at home where I sat and talked to her mom while the kids chased each other around spraying water everywhere. I'm ready to crash.
Brynn, I grew up on a diet of Led Zeppelin too. My dad is the music man. Why hate admitting they're cool?
Trying to focus on getting kids in bed so I get some peace and quiet. The more time here now, the less I have later.

In for a sober weekend!
Today at work I felt scattered and huffy (too many things competing for my attention), but it is over, and not every day is like that. I left it all behind in the vanishing past.
Meditated/vegged out on the bus home, had a brief lie-down with Pandora music when I got home, then a small dinner and went to an AA meeting. That was a good thing to have done.
This weekend I'll be playing with computer audio and maybe some visual art projects.
Also upgrading my bike to a U-lock that I can actually open (old lock has become stubborn) and wrapping my handlebars with cork tape to refurbish the deteriorating handlebar grips. The little upgrades make me happy.
Recently reading the little Shambala paperback "Teachings of the Buddha", edited by Jack Kornfield. Glad that I picked that up. It reminds me of directions that I want to develop toward and areas of my behavior and mental habits that need improving.
Gilmer, sorry to hear about your Dad. Sounds like you have found some good caretakers for him.
