BigS ~

You exhibit the prime, favorable Characteristic that every Attorney must possess: you know the answer to a question before you ask it!

This now-blacked-out Gent shows this pattern:

Job 1 - Get really high and/or blackout

Job 2 - Find and pick any DOC that permits accomplishing Job 1

The changes this Fellow needs to pull off aren't easy, but they are simple.

Leshar, the house sounds fantastic. I don't think it's odd to want to hide from your friends. My brother and his family were over and combined with my family, it was really loud in the house. I needed to get out for a few minutes. BigS has some really great suggestions.

I really like SR better than AA meetings. The only down side is that I have to brew my own coffee.

I bring my own coffee to AA. Decaf. I don't like leaving more anxious than when I walk in.

Looks like I am the 1st Sunday post

8:10 am here. I have just been jogging through the park and St Sepulchre's graveyard.

It's high spring tide today - I'm going down to the embankment later to watch old father Thames, after being fortified with an enormous breakfast to follow last night's curry.

Need to get a grip on my sober appetite

Good morning.

It's 5ish in the a.m. here. I love my quiet time in the morning to think and write and catch up on SR over a GOOD cup of coffee.

I'm planning on heading out for a walk at sunrise with my new camera to take some pictures.

Great googly moogly! 6 pages of posts yesterday. Sober peeps are working this thread.

Got to do some taxes yesterday. Good stuff. My Kindle was found by the hotel. Better stuff. My Buckeyes looked just awful in the NCAA tourney last night. Disappointing stuff. Had some fro-yo and watched Foxcatcher with Mrs Nons last night. Relaxing stuff.

My coffee maker beeps when it is done, and I just heard it beckon me. Time to get my caffeine on.

Well... Someone I care about very much... Tommy.... He is an alcoholic. A sweet person by any measure. I helped get him in the car to be taken over to the hospital yesterday. Just got word his kidneys are shutting down.

His body is on a track that is now seemingly unstoppable. Possible but for only those in otherwise good health. We shall see.

He is at the point of minerals building up in his joints. Mild mini seizures. Painful movements. Unsteadiness in walking. Confusion. He complained Friday morning when I saw him but it progressed.

All from drinking. I have known a few that have passed from drinking. But Tommy is someone who I love. A sweetheart of a person.

Tommy is not beyond recovering from the impossible. He was run over and dragged under the car back in 2009. Went to see him in the hospital and he met the incident with his usual calm approach to any other thing in his life big or small.

I see tommy every weekend morning. Saturday and Sunday we spend time over coffee... The news... Reading the paper. The hour or so after I get done at the gym has been a routine I would miss if I could not stop to see him. Bring him the plates of food from my weekend cooking adventures. Getting the reviews of what was good and maybe what wasn't. Although he always liked everything.

Hope I get another weekend coffee time again but probably not. Hopeful as much as hope can allow.

Oh Ken I am so very sorry. There but for the grace of God go I. I am sure that was painful to post but thank you for posting it. I think it is very important for us to always be cognizant of the dangers of continuing to ingest poisons.

Gilmer good luck on the homework!

Sorry to read that about your friend Weasel. I hope for your sake he recovers too. Bit of a scary read as I suspect I was on that path too.

I've come with some friends down to the wide end of Old Father Thames in the county of Essex. It's where England's criminal fraternity bury the bodies and stash loot and stuff. All great fun I'm sure. Long history of malcontents here, it's where Wat Tyler and his chums started the Peasants Revolt

I can't believe that at 54 years old I thought a sleeveless jacket would be warm enough for mid March. I'm sitting in the car for a while to warm up. Duh!
