Theory of everything. ...good movie, I enjoyed it. interesting.
I seem to have missed something with the stars...went outside to see what the fuss is and saw nothing but some stars...
Ok...good night everyone. ..see you in the morning. I'm already looking forward to my morning coffee and a feeling good Saturday morning.

Hey lilac ,
glad to hear it , when i used to drive the ship tangental support is what i was always thinking about ..
We do talk about big THINGS but we also can chat about nothing very much and just talk to other sober people without mentioning the elephant in the room . drinking is doom and gloom and life threateningly serious , sobriety can be the greatest, funest thing you can do

At the very least it acts as a distraction for a while, lets face it when youre craving anything to distract yourself and not think about it is helpful .

Hey y'all ,
sat morning here, got some green tea on the go . Have a good book to read and have to take mum shopping ..
had pancakes on tuesday with lemon and sugar i might well have them for breakfast this morning

later , m

Morning all,

Catching up with the variety of posts on SR as I relax in bed with a coffee. Got an early night and awoke feeling rested. This never happened when I was drinking - staying up late, poor quality sleep, the morning defined by fear and dread.

Pancakes Mex, nice. Mrs B and I had them last week. Savoury followed by sweet. Might cook up a batch today.

Nice!

Flex those sober muscles, too! I remember how odd and awkward it felt in the beginning to not drink. Drinking was what I did. What I had always done. It was my response to any life event.
Happy? Celebrate with a drink.
Sad? Soothe with a drink.
Angry? Calm with a drink.
Accomplish something? Reward with a drink.

Finding new ways to celebrate, soothe, calm, and reward seemed unnatural in early sobriety. Breaking old patterns and establishing new ones takes time and effort. But when you've done it you've also got happy muscles to flex.

Working all day again today. Keep it sober, Beautiful People!

Got a full day of work ahead of me. Then I'm off to lake country to see the the parents. I'll be scarce 'till Monday night. Meanwhile, y'all tear it up.

I hear that! I have a hard it seems like with everything I drank.

Grilling -> Beer
Eating -> Beer
Sports -> Beer
Hiking -> Beer
Music -> Beer, etc.

I listen to music and I think of drinking. It challenges me. But your post gives me hope that I can find and do things I loved once again and without the booze!

It is definitely hard for awhile at the beginning, but it really does get easier eventually. You build new sober habits.

Here from tropical Mexican vacation! Tough moments last night when we first arrived and the beer and tequila were flowing but I had some juice and kept moving. That set it for me, I suspected the first moments would be the most challenging.

SIL doesn't drink, so I'm not alone at the kids table. Beautiful but really windy. high in the 80s today.

Welcome to all the first weekenders! It's a great time to change your life.

Hi everyone,

Back at 'cha Dark A

Lunchtime.

I'm in the outskirts of London working on my rusty old Lancia.
Feeling quite old, someone has graffiti'd the garage door. Had to 'phone youngest daughter for translation

Trying without success to remove rusted-thru exhaust

I've been using the British Industry Standard - 20% WD40 40% Brute Force 40% Swearing but no good so far

Not much chance of seeing any astronomical displays hereas even the sun is struggling to come out

Uranus is bigger than Mars
