As though further proof were needing of my jones for ribs, this reply was all it took for me to make a dedicated trip to the store for ribs and other animal products (sorry to be so gung-ho, vegitarians and vegans, but it truly takes all kinds to mkae the world go 'round).

Will cook ribs Saturday. Tonight I rubbed two NY strips in peppercorn and dried garlic.

Simple.

Awesome.

And a perfect mid-rare. Hey man, the appeal of drink, dope, and sex is very strong...yet almost magically silenced by a good meal.

Since I now live in 'the country,' even rentals have huge patios. So a smoker is on my list! I'll be coming to you for tips!

I vote for the Goat option! And can you swing by to take me with you? We're on the cabbage soup diet here.

Love,

It probably will be raining tonight but I'm sending hubby outside to grill hamburgers. I've gone too long without grilled meat! (The grill is under the carport so it's not that bad.)

Off to a good start......my dude made breakfast.....eggs, bacon, tortillas and homemade potatoes.....yum......he makes a good breakfast.

I took a couple steaks out for tonight and will either marinate them or put a rub on them. Not sure what I am going to have with them......stay tuned.

Sorry FS, Lenina and I ate all the ribs.

Spicy oven baked pork chops, field peas and broccoli cheese rice.

Tomorrow I am making a roast with gravy and mashed potatoes, green beans and lima beans. That is all I am cooking until Thanksgiving pretty much except for sausage balls to take to work T Day on Tuesday.

Ooo, I love sausage balls! I make mine with sage sausage, and I add pepper flakes and tabasco so they have some kick

I almost made pork chops tonight. The kids went so nuts with the ribs last night that they were begging me to pick up another rack when we were at the grocery store at 2 this afternoon... I had to point out that ribs require many hours (kids: "oh yeeeeeeah!" me:*rolling eyes*) So I asked them if they wanted pork chops instead, but they decided on chicken.

SO.... I'm making arroz con pollo! It smells quite lovely in here right now!

firestorm: I would happily fix some more ribs if you came for a visit -- just gimme some notice
