Morning all. Productive hour so far since waking up at 6:30...washing on, plug unblocked, bin emptied (of course the bag split and I had to fetch it all off the floor), few stretches done.

Shall i compare it to waking up hungover? It may be boring, but just for old times sake...lying in bed having not slept. Sweaty, red faced, flushed, the back of my face on fire. Thirsty af. Mouth hurting and fuzzy. Head pounding. Drag myself out of bed into the shower and stand there for 15 minutes patching myself up to go downstairs. Drag myself downstairs, get kids out the door in a haze, back to bed or flop in front of tv hating myself.

Ah, the good old days 🙄

Morning Venus. Haha, yes you have asked before! During meditation one of the things is to 'feel the breath fill your head, on the back of your face'. I bet if you focus on it you feel it, it feels like the back of your cheeks and nose etc. And when I drank it used to be on fire all the time, so hot and horrible

Morning Billy hope this run of night shifts is ok, and morning Willow. Have a great day

Morning Be, Willow, Suze and Dee
what are everyone's plans for the day?
Be, do you have a busy work day?
I am off today but back tomorrow.
Yesterday I slept from 9-2 after my night shift, then went out to walk dogs, then slept again from 1900-2330 then went to bed and slept all night 🤣 there was a whole lot of sleeping
less sleep today, maybe I will something productive
have a good one!
Love Billy x

Also Be Is it one year for you tomorrow maybe? The next day? I am coming up on Monday. I know days, months, years etc aren't massively important but I think we should both be hugely proud of this milestone
full of gratitude that you've been with me every step of the journey
love Billy x

Saturday is my year. 27th February - the day my wife said she wanted to leave me. I never thought I'd say it (can I say this??) - I'm now in a place that I see that had to happen. Am I glad it happened...? Almost!! Maybe I am.

Yes very busy with work, my job is sorting policy for a large organisation and their policy is an absolute dogs dinner. It's hard to know where to start, if I attack one area it just shows up what I need to do in another. Still, it's interesting work

The year anniversary has made me more wobbly than I thought it would. I'm not anywhere near drinking because I actively do not want to, but I suppose it's made me think about the future and the past...I'm going to delete my sobriety day counter app after Saturday and just get on with the rest of my life, I'll never forget the date but the daily count is going to be gone forever

You’ve come so far in the last year Be, it’s really wonderful ❤️
You too Billy, wonderful to be coming up to a year ❤️

It’s Friday morning here, and we’re having some lovely rain. It’s been quite parched here lately, so the rain is just beautiful. I had planned some beach time this weekend but I’m very happy for the rain to come along and change my plans I think I’ll probably get stuck into a new jigsaw puzzle that I was given recently. I also picked up a new book a few days ago so I have plenty of indoor things to do, and keep my mind away from the AV.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend

Hey Willow
How are things going for you? I'm just off to bed so thought I'd drop in for a quick hello.
I got a card through the post today from my brother (who is 12 years sober) congratulating me on my year milestone coming up, he'd even fashioned me a 1 year chip - rather made me well up 😭
love Billy x

That's lovely of your brother Billy, why a nice gesture.

Nice to hear you're getting a bit of rain Willow. I'm going to cut the grass later, first one of the year, as it's a great forecast. Going to be sunny all day.

Ive got a plan for my anniversary tomorrow - I'm going to run to another town with my running buddy. It's about 20k away and it's over a huge hill which includes a 8km climb, it's going to be very challenging. And then back home to have lunch with another friend and then chill and watch sport on tv all afternoon. I'll be glad when it's over tbh and I can get back on with day to day sober living!!

Ha! The best laid plans of mice and men...

I'll spend tomorrow on my own. The kids haven't been well and my ex took them for covid tests today. They're not showing covid symptoms but it's very unusual for them to be poorly for three days at the same time, so she got them tested. We'll get results Monday so I'm isolating.

There is something so appropriate about that. When my ex said she wanted to seperate originally I move out and within one day I had to come home due to covid...I couldn't even get that right 😂😂

So be it, I don't really mind and it's just another chapter in the story. Life is

To wake up early it would seem, Dee! But I slept very well so I've opened the curtains and will watch the sky turn from black to blue by degrees

I won't hear test results for the kids til Monday.

Im running by myself this morning, then getting a little food delivery from a friend. Then this afternoon watch sport (it's my favourite afternoon of the week). I'll probably have something good to eat and then I'll go to bed, sober and proud of myself
