I was talking to an old friend from University. A partner in crime so to say. We drank and did plenty of drugs in our 20's. He was shocked how bad my drinking got into my 30's and 40's now. It's strange to me how he just basically stopped and just has the odd beer and I went worse and worse with my consumption. We were pretty bad with alcohol and cocaine back then. He was just able to stop cold Turkey with no problem. I never could! Everyone is different with addiction!

WL - I got the sand delivered to use as the base for some paving I was doing. I had started my project, but had to put a halt to it when the pardalotes took over the pile to build their nest.

And - me too - I like the temperatures where I am now. My last home was in a real hot spot. Over 38C for about 5 months of the year, and then cooled down to about 30C for the rest of the year. The really hot months had many days over 45C - that is far too hot for me and did nothing but sit inside with the air conditioner.

this is the easiest way
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...our-posts.html (How to put pics in your posts)

you can upload directly as an attachment to your post as well but you have to watch the size

you need to be in full reply mode, not quick reply...
if you scroll down you'll see an 'attach files' box...then a 'manage attachments' button...

hit that and you can upload from your PC there, assuming it's within the prescribed limits of size...they're pretty small.

A refresh makes decking look so much nicer! I have been pulling up the old boards, ditching the ones that are too far gone (using them for firewood) and putting the others through the thicknesser to refresh them. Lots of work, but it is working. The big deck was all 'new' decking, but I used recycled ecodeck - made from a combination of recycled hardwood, bamboo and recycled plastic.

I've sent you a PM with the method I use for posting images TC. Your profile pic looks like you are on your way!

I feel inadequate because people here can build decks! I cut the lawn as a child but that only involves pushing a mower in a straight line. I need more skills for a project/hobby pronto!

Coz, makes total sense! I have traveled quite a bit, but usually was going to places where there was a drinking culture. Dublin, Belfast, Amsterdam, London, Munich for Oktoberfest all in one trip over 3 weeks. I don't recommend that trip.

Never made it to Australia yet, but it on my bucket list since I was a kid. It is gonna be my next vacation. Need sober muscles first and wait for a covid19 first. Going to find the dingo who took the baby! (Sorry if that joke was inappropriate, enough time has passed I assume?) Great movie that shook me in an emotional way. (We have stereotypes here in Canada too, Maple syrup and moose)

This is great!! Love it.

This is the exact colour I imagined.
I’d go for a ride in that.

Have a great day all.

TC - you are now the designated driver of this one!

When my non-smoking plan comes to fruition, you can take the real one for a ride. We'll probably all be well over three years sober by then .

Wow you all are putting me to shame on the decking. My deck is in poor shape. Falling apart. I have a hot tub in my deck too TC but mine finally died this year. Probably for the best as I spent many drunken nights sitting out there looking at the stars. For hours at a time. I'm lucky I didn't drown.

Wow! It worked! I am amazed. That is a picture of my grandson. It was easy, too! Thanks!

I am feeling so much better, Coz, thanks! Keep filling us in on your projects, you are inspiring me. Today, I am cutting the grass. It's a great skill to have WL!
I'm also picking up groceries and ten bags of topsoil and a bottle of housewash. Lots of great projects ahead for me, too.
Love and hugs to all!

Looks like a slugger, your grandson, Karen, the next Babe Ruth maybe?
Try to stay in the shade if it is still hot there.

My deck staining is mostly a shade project. Good for hot days.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

11 days sober. I feel pretty normal actually.
No cravings yet, which is a good thing, I despise the stuff lately anyway. Been taking vitamins and staying well hydrated.
I don’t make much of an effort to eat well. Doc has me on cholesterol mitigating meds (past 6 years or so).

As always, sober days are good days.

Be well SRers.
