And it gets to minus 40 here in the winter sometimes. We get 'Ice-quakes' where the extreme cold causes foundations of the building to shift. The whole building shakes. Would prefer the 26 degree winters!
WL - I got the sand delivered to use as the base for some paving I was doing. I had started my project, but had to put a halt to it when the pardalotes took over the pile to build their nest.
And - me too - I like the temperatures where I am now. My last home was in a real hot spot. Over 38C for about 5 months of the year, and then cooled down to about 30C for the rest of the year. The really hot months had many days over 45C - that is far too hot for me and did nothing but sit inside with the air conditioner.
