Class of February 2018 Support Thread Pt 5
Thank you Dee and everybody. When I drink I have an off switch, but I do like to get a nice buzz going. Drinking became a problem, total abstinence is the safest and smartest solution. I don't want to be a distraction, but I'm going to stick around SR and would like to post here with support and give some positive updates.
CYH, the In This Moment CD didn't come from the library yet but I'm looking forward to it. I tend to listen to a little mellower stuff at home and harder stuff in the car or at the gym. So cool that you took your son to the concert!
IWTA, great to see you check in and going strong!!

I won't pull out your first post Jimi but back then in 2016 you spoke of 'no real horror stories but definitely some regrets'.
Working off switch or not this has obviously been an ongoing problem for you for a long time- I think you need to think pretty hard about who JimiC is and what/who he wants to be?

We think we have an off switch, but we really don't, or we wouldn't be here.
I've read enough here to know that moderation probably won't work for more than a couple weeks. People post all the time about "well, I'm back after two years, etc" I don't want to be one of those persons and lose another two years or more, of my life.
Knowing what I know now, I'd want to be sober even if I was a normal drinker.

I had some anxiety come back the next day and almost a feeling of shock like why? Will this snowball? Didn't feel worth it at all.
Hi Febs, this is sunshine but I've changed up my username for some privacy reasons. Also, I'm taking a break from SR. I love you all and please follow your paths and remember we only get one life, make the most out of it. Best of luck to all!
Don't try to be a joker like I was last month. I had a minor procedure/check up (butt check) and I was pretty funny, I thought. At one point my monitor came off my chest and I started screaming that someone was standing on my airhose, even though I wasn't receiving oxygen. I also grabbed a door frame when they were wheeling me into the room where they do the procedure. After it was over I asked where I could pick my award for having the "best ass."
No one there thought I was funny.

Hi All..
I am back in US. Lot's of jet lag and fighting some cold and cough. But overall trip was great had good time. Most importantly, I was sober throughout and it was my priority all the way....
Today I am 116 days with no drinks, one day at a time, staying sober and strong....
Aly - My best wishes and hope for speedy recovery....
Sunshine - we will miss you around. Take care...
JimiC - I have been on that path. It's starts with it's ok for one drink and soon it's slippery slope, especially, when going thru relationship adjustments, it could spiral into a storm. Be careful with your moves brother. I had no off switch at all...I drank till i shut down the whole town and passed out....
CCYA, Otiles - nice to see you guys doing Ok...
Dee- thanks for being here and everywhere...You remind me of Energizer Bunny ..
Thanks everyone for the support....Have an awesome Sat...
Peace!

Just got back from Foo Fighters show in Seattle. Sober of course, no worries. On the way back we were talking with a couple on the light rail train who had Dave Matthews tickets they can't use for tomorrow and gave them to us. Is that nice or what??!! Super nice people. So anyway, we're going to Dave Matthews tomorrow night, completely unexpected change of plans.
