Hope everyone’s doing ok! Awefully quiet around here. Stay strong and stay the course. Three weeks until I see my Navy son. It’s only been 8 months, but that’s a long time to not see someone after living with them for 19 years!! I’m so proud of him though, and I’m so glad he’s doing something he loves. |

Hey friends! CYH- I’d be super proud too, I’m glad that you’ll see your son soon. Sunshine, I hope you’re doing better! Any good plans for the week off OOTT? IWTA- I hope you’re having a great trip! Hi Aly! My wife and I had a disatorious counseling session today and we made it our last one. It’s so hard, we’ll see what the future holds. I made it through the first week of the healthy no sugar pledge I posted about earlier and am feeling good. I’ve also taken some beach bike rides despite of the heat (a few 90 degree days CYH, I know that’s nothing compared to Arizona). What’s going on for the weekend Febs? |
Jimi-so sorry about what you're going through. Stay tough. So grateful you'e past using as an excuse to drink. Sending you a good vibe. I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't posted much, I've been so tired. But my exam and EKG all came out great. Thankfully, I have not seemed to have harmed my organs from drugs and alcohol. Have a great rest of the week. Thank you all. It’s quite a surreal thing to see your little boy go from playing pirate one day to working on a nuclear submarine (seemingly) the next. IWTA: You’re kicking butt! Keep it up. Aly: So glad your tests came back good. Jimi: Have to admit I was a bit worried about you when we hadn’t heard from you in a bit. Sorry to hear about your marriage issues. I hope you can turn something good from all of this, and like Aly said, major kudos for not using it as an excuse to drink! Keep on rockin in the free and sober world! |

I definitely thought about drinking because of my marital issues, I gotta say I crushed my AV pretty quickly. If proclaiming that I'll never drink again doesn't feel natural, I go with not today and it's working so far. It seemed that the therapist felt we were a lost cause. He said it's either separation or trying living together civilly (basically staying together for our daughter, but not being a couple). Or continuing to try to fix things which he said requires a lot of heavy lifting since we've pretty much failed so far. Having a child, house, 401k plans, etc. makes this soooooooooo hard. I appreciate the support! Tomorrow we're going to my brother's house in South Hampton NY for the weekend. There's some rain in the forecast so, praying for some sunshine! Hi Sunshine :) |
Jimi, so glad you didn't pick up. Good for you. We're all here for you if you get to where you need to post about it. Sometimes it's hard, esp when you're feeling stressed and anxious. I'm finding, if I can wait long enough, a lot of times the A/V passes. So sorry you're going through this. Take care of yourself, remember HALT too. Hi guys and gals! Just checking in on a hot Saturday to say hi and see how everyone is doing. I'm hanging in there. AV has backed off a bit, but I'm feeling kind of anxious and I hate it, but overall I'm doing well.
